So we’re out of the trauma ward😎
unfortunately there’s another 6-8 weeks with the frame before physio starts!
We were going to open on Wednesday, that’s not going to happen! Realistically it’s going to be July at the earliest, everything has to heal, and apparently I’m no spring chicken so it’s gonna take time.
Fingers crossed we can start for summer.

Hello Everyone ! I’m very sorry to post this photo. On our first morning back in Cornwall Andy was involved in an accident whilst riding his bike on Hayle roundabout and has sustained serious injuries. He was initially taken to Treliske but later transferred to Derriford. Im not going to list his injuries but I will say it’s not life threatening and he will be on crutches for around 6 weeks. Due to this we have no choice but to postpone opening for Easter. The important thing now is Andy getting better and making a full recovery. I will post updates on how he’s doing when we have news.We have a few changes planned this season but this situation certainly wasn’t in the plan. We hope you can bear with us and we really hope to see you all back at Hideaway when things have improved. Thank you for your patience. Kind regards Sally and Andy xx

What ever you got up to last night, I hope all is well, and here’s to a healthy and prosperous 2026.
It won’t be long before we’re back open with new ideas to tickle your tastebuds!!

Well folks, that’s a wrap for 2025! It’s been an amazing year, meeting new people in the area, and welcoming back familiar faces.
Sal and I are always blown away by your patience and generosity, so from both of us we wish you all a great winter/Christmas/new year, and look forward to seeing everyone in march/april 2026 where we have some new ideas for the space and new menu treats (we promise the beach photos will be kept to a minimum 😎).

So, bit of a strange post. Got to work this morning to find that our bicycle sign (second one!) has been removed! Now that took some forethought, a sturdy padlock and heavy chain, we thought had it secure. So, if anyone in the local area, has/had a reason to remove it, please come talk to us, we’re very accommodating and could have come up with a solution.
Anywaaay, not to let that dampen our spirits, it’s our last weekend of 2025, we’re going out with a bang, got some favourites on the specials board, and mulled wine all weekend.

It’s Sunday, which can only mean one thing — the mighty Yorkie pud is back!
This week it’s loaded up with Cumberland sausage, colcannon mash, peas and a good ladle of onion gravy. Proper comfort food.
Now then, about the donuts…
Our take on a Ferrero Rocher — stuffed with Nutella, topped with 70% cocoa chocolate, a mix of clotted cream and butter, and finished with roasted hazelnuts. They cost a touch more, but trust us — when you’re sat back, belt loosened and grinning, you’ll know it was worth every bite.

So after yesterday’s unofficial weather forecast I’m shutting up!
Todays raft of treats includes, chicken katsu curry, basmati rice and pickled cucumber, salted caramel and honeycomb donuts and the always popular venison and black pudding scotch eggs.

Well, what a start to the day! Very autumnal down here at HQ, but hopefully staying dry throughout the day. Everything’s just coming out of the oven, the donuts are freshly fried and our pigs in blankets sub is just the right lunchtime treat.
