🚨Event Announcement🚨

We're excited to announce that critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot will be performing at The Old Town Hall on Thursday 22 October!

From the breakout success of Fires in the mid-2000s — with Top 40 hits and Brit and Ivor Novello nominations — to collaborations with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Pallot’s career has been anything but ordinary. And yet, she has remained a resolutely independent voice in British music, telling stories that speak to the beauty and heartbreak of everyday life.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday 17 June at 10am.

137 years ago today our building opened it's doors to the public for the very first time!

The Old Town Hall (formally 'Trowbridge Town Hall') has been on quite the journey since then. . .

For over 85 years it was home to local government and and the magistrates court, as well as hosting the first ever Wiltshire Council meeting.

It was also a major public venue for all kinds of cultural and civic occasions, including the famous Top Twenty Club, which saw bands such as The Who perform in its Great Hall!

Around 1975 it became the home of the District Magistrates Court for a further 30 years, until it was converted into a specialist Coroner’s Court for service personnel coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan via RAF Lyneham.

When RAF Lyneham closed in 2012 a public meeting was held with a view to restoring the building for public use. Our charity, Trowbridge Town Hall Trust, was formed and with the support of Trowbridge Area Board agreed a lease with Wiltshire Council.

In 2023 we closed our doors for an extensive refurbishment. Having reopened in Autumn 2025, we're excited to once again be running events and activity in our beautiful building.

Join our team! We’re looking to expand our pool of Freelance Event Technicians to support the delivery of events at The Old Town Hall in Trowbridge.

Hosting a varied programme of live music, theatre, comedy, talks, and community events, we’re seeking technicians who are confident operating sound and lighting within our two performance spaces. Opportunities are offered on a freelance, event-by-event basis, primarily during evenings and weekends.
