So long post - but a 2 day event, and so probably understandable if you want to jump straight into the photos!!
On Saturday and Sunday 10-11 October saw us travel South-West to Exeter Comic Con, organised by the UK Comic Con and Gaming Festivals. 2 days of giggles and laughs ensued alongside the Daleks of Somerset. and many other people and traders, including D&C film cars and props with their KITT Car, Batmobile (and Batman!), the South Coast Cop Cars to name a few... Others there included Spirit Walker UK , Kermit Tribute and friends , Roger Hathaway photography and many more which I apologise that I've forgotten who you are!
Saturday not long after doors opened, Optimus decided it was time to head out and entertain the crowds - however, it wasn't long before his childish side came out to play and he went to play hide & seek, or playing with giant squishy things! I think his biggest moment was causing a queue to form in the cafe as he picked up a tray, and then gave it to the Daleks to choose their lunch! Saying lunch - just after lunchtime, it was the large group photo for all cos-players to attend, and there were LOTS of us!! Even Barricade came out to join in the photo! Though once Barricade had been let out, he then prowled the event looking for other Autobots to intimidate! Even he went to the cafe to see what was on offer. Hot Rod wanted to know what all the fuss was about, and once he had extracted himself from hiding, he too went for a wander to observe what was on offer. Tigger made a brief appearance we think - but fairly sure that he darted around the event so fast, that there weren't many photos of him from Saturday. ... Like with all events when you are having fun, it comes to an end quicker than you expect ... and before long, it was time to go back into hiding ready for the Sunday of the event!
The Sunday was just as much fun and started well with Optimus out and roaming - but before long he found a way to amuse himself with seeing a bin to try and pick up, though he then struggled to put it down as it got stuck in his hands!! ... Outside chaos had ensued due to the Dalek supervisor deciding to feed both the Daleks and Tigger candy floss ... it didn't take long until the sugar hit happened and the Daleks went off on the zoomies, and Tigger who never stops having the Zoomies, decided to go even faster!! He then decided to 'borrow' the candy floss, and released that he could have it all to himself by disappearing up into the carpark as Daleks can't do steps!!! Optimus just watched in awe as the daft happenings occurred around him for once and he wasn't the instigator of it! Soon after we all headed back inside where Optimus got to meet Kermit and Friends and soon enough, Barricade came out to see what all the fuss was about! Barricade found the UK Police signs and flashy lights most appealing, as it reminded him of his role on Earth! The day progressed a lot faster than we all imagined, and before long we were nearing the end of the event - but not before Optimus decided to see how nimble and agile he could be by building a lego tower ... He did very very very well, considering how his hands can be at times!
Big Shoutout has to go to on Instagram who attended in their Cosplay of Soundwave ... I admire the build, and the documentation that accompanied it!! You are certainly welcome to the world of Transformers!
Well done to Lisa and her team from UKCGF ... we will see you all again soon at another event in the future!
