š£ Jellycat Announcement š£
Iāve been unsure of how to write this and debating whether or not to make a statement - however, our customers deserve to know whatās gone on and for us to explain why you will no longer be able to buy Jellycat from us. (You may have already seen info regarding this as itās all over social media, BBC and other news platforms).
Yes, Jellycat have decided weāre not good enough to stock them. So, we are one of the MANY independents that Jellycat have very impersonally told they are no longer supplying.
After 15 or so years of supporting them, spending thousands with them, promoting them on social media etc whilst they built their brand to become the success it now is, theyāve decided to drop the ālittle guysā who first took a chance at stocking them before they went viral and became Tik Tok famous... (Bravo Jellycat, youāve made it!)
There are some wonderful people with shops around the UK who have stocked Jellycat for over 20 years and have now been basically dumped. Iām amazed by Jellycats arrogance and lack of integrity.
A very impersonal AI sounding email came our way, simply starting with āDear Jellycat Stockistāā¦. and then follows with no proper explanation on their decision, just something about their ābrand elevation strategyā. This email has been sent to hundreds of us with them just editing the shop name.
Itās certainly laughable for them to say āas part of our commitment to keeping you informedā ⦠as weāve always had to contact them first, chase orders, call for stock sheets - not once have they ever ākept us informedā about anything. So that part did give me a giggle. You can read this email below.
I could go into detail to share the appalling way this company has treated so many of us stockists, especially over the last few years, but it would be an even longer post and as customers, you only need to know that we can no longer stock this product. We just wanted to explain why - as this isnāt our choice, but in all honesty itās a relief to never have to deal with this shambles of a company ever again, because they are the most unreliable, selfish and untrustworthy company weāve ever had to deal with.
We do still have stock available at the moment, and we will be putting the Christmas ones out this week, so do pop in if youād like a Jellycat as weād like to get them off our shelves as soon as possible and make room for new products.
Jellycat, be careful who you treat badly on your way to the top. Despite producing a lovely, quirky range of cuddly toys that are loved by so many - they are in fact JUST overpriced polyester filled cuddly toys and you have now tarnished your reputation as a company.
We will be introducing a new range of cuddlyās soon, from wonderful companies who are a pleasure to deal with and treat their stockists well.
Thank you for reading (if you got this far!)
Jellycat you have truly shown how NOT to run a business.
