❤️ Something Old, Reimagined ❤️ What an honour it was to be asked to create a new accessory from Ellie's grannie's headpiece from her wedding nearly 70 years ago 🥹 It was an extremely delicate job but I couldn't help but think how lucky I was to be sat at my desk working on this piece of art which someone else had first made 70 years ago.
✂️ First we agreed where she wanted the part to be taken from and under Ellie's watchful eye, I removed it with wire cutters
🪡 Next I gave it a hair cut and got rid of all the loose thread, sewing it back together again. I also removed all of the leaves
🌼 I moved all the flowers neatly into place and re bound them onto the main wire so they stayed put
🍁 I then put the leaves back on, spacing them out nicely
💕 Lastly I wrapped satin ribbon around the headpiece, securing all of my workings
