🍂 🎃 With the summer period closely coming to and end and Halloween season approaching, it’s that time again to remind you of some very important information!
‼️ It’s important we understand the cautions of having a ‘volunteer’ face painter attending your events/parties. Face Painting is a fun way to entertain your guest and bring in lots of children, however there are some things to be aware of to ensure the safety of everyone.
✅ Those of us who do this professionally and charge accordingly have the relevant knowledge and education on what products to use and are safe for children’s faces and what brands to stay away from (SHEIN, Temu, Amazon, eBay etc). Having a volunteer you risk them unknowingly using products which are not EU FDA approved, can cause skin irritation, chemical burns and unfortunately wouldn’t have the relevant insurance if these were to occur.
📑 Make sure you ask what products are being used, if they are purchased from a reputable seller and are compliant with UK insurance. If it is not specifically professional grade face paints, just say no. If all they can say is that the container "says face paint", that is still not enough to be safe.
😊 Many products sold as "face paint" are made in China, and have no regulations on their contents. Please do not trust that a volunteer has the knowledge to keep you and your guests safe, comfortable and happy.
🧟♂️ Parents. If you would like to do your child/ren’s faces ready for trick o treat, avoid using the cheap sets from supermarkets such as Tesco/asda etc. These sets are made from cheap Grease paint which again may not be regulated as you’d expect. Just because they are being sold in supermarkets doesn’t mean they are safe. Ideally use something reputable and a cheap brand you can use which is safe is snazaroo! You can find these in places like hobby craft.
Thank you!
