Looking back at Sam & Rachel’s incredible day last September at the stunning Canonteign Falls. 🌿
For this pair, good food was a priority — it was the heart of the celebration. We knew from our first site tour that this was going to be special. We spent a glorious afternoon at the falls, delivering a tasting session for them to enjoy with a few ciders in the sunshine, followed by hours of chatting through every detail of their vision.
Being the second-to-last wedding ever held at the Falls (we’ve got our fingers crossed they reopen for weddings soon!), the atmosphere was pure magic. Here is how we brought their foodie vision to life:
The Menu Highlights 🥩🔥
The "Nacho" Canape: We adapted one of the couple’s favourite foods into miniature versions with a Westcountry theme —homemade tri-colour mini chips, Westcountry cheddar sauce, apple, tomato & chilli salsa, and sour cream.
The Appetisers: To keep everyone happy while waiting for the buffet, we served nibble trays of salami, spiced tomato chutney, and salted sourdough croutes.
The Main Event: Massive 1.4kg+ Tomahawk steaks sealed over coals and smoked in our drum BBQs, alongside 24hr smoked beef back ribs, grilled garlic king prawns, and Tuscan chicken.
The Sides: A feast of Mac & cheese, fire-roasted garlic potatoes, tian Provençal skewers, creamed corn with chilli & coriander, and a mustard slaw.
The Late Night: We finished strong with pasties from our favourite Cornish butchers — arguably the best pasties from Cornwall!
It was an absolute honour to be part of Sam & Rachel’s story and to cook in such a breath-taking location.
