🕊️ In Memory of Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton 🕊️
Today the world of sport, and so many hearts beyond the ring, feel a deep loss. Ricky Hatton, world champion, fighter, mentor, beloved Mancunian who has passed away at just 46.
Ricky was more than his record; he was someone who fought inside the ring with fearsome courage, and outside the ring with openness and vulnerability.
His willingness to speak about his mental health battles and his life beyond boxing reminded us all that strength comes in many forms, especially the quiet ones.
For anyone reading this who feels shaken by the news: it’s okay to feel.
It’s okay to be sad or to share stories, memories, tears.
Because through those shared moments we honour who he was - a champion, a fighter, a son, a friend.
I offer my deepest condolences to Ricky’s loved ones during this impossible time.
May his legacy remind us to lean in to compassion, to speak when we need help, to lift each other 💔
