Good Evening All

As you are aware, Thornensians RUFC have been dealing with an ongoing disciplinary issue.
On the 3rd November whilst a visiting Yorkshire 3 team from Halifax were at Coulman Road an incident spilled towards the side of the pitch. Several spectators made the decision to become embroiled in the altercation.

The result has been a drawn out process culminating in the concerned spectators being handed an initial ban of 12 months by the Yorkshire RFU. This equates to not being able to attend any adult game within England for the period of the ban.

Thornsensians have also received an 18 points deduction within their league. Suspended until the end of the season.

What this means.

Should any further issue arise within the stands involving Thorne spectators, including interaction with any appointed officials then the deduction will be implemented.

From this point on the committee will work with the YRFU to ensure this doesn’t occur in the future and to ensure Rugby at Thorne is welcoming and safe place to watch the game.
