Last weekend's two weddings couldn't have been more contrasting.

Friday at Woolston Manor in Chigwell, Essex - Anglo/African with 190 sitting down for dinner and a further 90 in the evening, lots of scheduled special moments, loudly atmospheric from arrival, through the meal, speeches and night. All in all an absolutely bonkers day, for which we provided our Standard Set Up and Photo Booth. (Pictures 1-7)

Saturday at Broxbourne Golf Complex, Herts - a more intimate affair, with a couple so chilled that the schedule didn't really matter as long as everyone was happy and having a lovely time. For this we provided our White Premier Set Up, Ambience Uplighting & LOVE letters. (Pictures 8-10)

My own "significant" birthday celebrations were put on hold over the bank holiday weekend as we were busy with an 18th, a Bat Mitzvah, an Engagement Party and a Wedding!

And despite the heat, all the events rocked a plenty!

It was also a weekend where we got a substantial amount of fantastic feedback about the 360 video booth and selfie pod we provided on Friday at Broxbourne Golf Complex (with our friends from FunLoading 360) and about our photo booth at The Prince Regent Hotel Chigwell on Sunday.

A glorious venue, a lovable couple and tireless, energetic guests. A winning cocktail, which resulted in a day to remember at this Anglo Indian wedding at Addington Palace in Croydon yesterday.

It's another venue we are the preferred supplier at, and it is always such a pleasure to work there.

Not that it felt liked work, until I got home shattered, 15 hours after leaving!

From the time Tony contacted us the process for booking for my daughter’s 18th birthday party, and deciding what we wanted was very smooth and easy.

The range of products and alternatives that Tony and Mick provided was extensive. Tony was very helpful in helping us decide what worked well at the venue according to my daughter’s preferences. They certainly knew what would work and what wouldn’t, and their experience really assisted us in deciding what themes to go with and what props to have.

When we arrived at the venue, the room looked amazing with the lighting, tables, balloons, DJ stand and Photo Booth. Everything seemed to knit together nicely, and it looked very professional.

During the evening the music was excellent. The DJ understood the vibe, and the dance floor was never empty.They catered for all music choices, and were keeping the party throughly entertained. They were flexible with the music being played to cater for everyone. It was played a reasonable volume too, so people could easily hold a conversation.

The Photo Booth was sensational. I had never seen so many props!! All the kids loved it and took advantage of it. Tony and Mick were very professional throughout, and maintained their cool and calm manner throughout the whole evening.

You can tell they are well seasoned at making everyone feel comfortable and have a good time at any function. I would highly recommend them!!

What a pleasure it was yesterday to work at a venue for the first time, which won from me a gold star for hospitality, not only for how they treated the guests, but the suppliers too. From offering to help us unload and pack away, moving a couple of things so we could set up, throughout the night making sure I was fed and watered, and generally being incredibly friendly... a big thank you to Ben and all the staff at Lot 14 in Theydon Bois. And what a bonus, they are only around the corner. We hope to be back soon.

So if you are looking for a venue to host your celebration, and you have 40-70 guests, I recommend Lot 14. From arrival, it was evident they were extremely organised. The venue is elegant and chic in design, its white walls assist lighting creativity, and the buffet was fresh and tasty.

We shared entertainment duties with a great Motown band. What they lacked in speaker cable management (it is all in the detail for me, but compare their speaker on the left of picture 1 with our two speakers either side of the DJ booth!!), they more than made up for with energy and charisma.

We provided our Compact DJ Set Up, White LED Dance Floor and 4 feet high Light Up 60 numbers.

All for Lisa's 60th, celebrated in style by her family and friends. Congratulations!!!

Despite this being our first post of 2026, it has thankfully been a busy start to the year with birthday parties and corporate events. And yesterday was our first wedding of many this year - and what an absolutely cracking day it was, shared with some truly lovely and enthusiastic people at the wonderful Tewinbury Farm Hotel in Herts.

Congratulations Sam and Tess!

They booked our Premier Set Up, and All Day Service, which included compering and playing the soundtrack through the wedding breakfast, and of course DJing the evening reception.

We have been part of some absolutely banging parties over the last week. But in amongst the seasonal mayhem, the special little moments that stood out were...

Picture 1... always one of my favourite gigs of the year, a lunchtime Christmas party at a day care home in Hornchurch. An opportunity to bring musical happiness to some elderly folk, some of whom are dogged by Dementia.

Picture 2... being spoilt by the lovely Sarah at Broxbourne Golf Complex, who makes THE BEST triple cooked chips and spared me a trip to the buffet table by giving me my own bowl of them. Some places I work at, the owners/managers don't even offer a warm welcome. Sarah is the polar opposite and has turned our venue manager/supplier relationship into a friendship.
