Good luck to everyone taking part in Trek 24 Cambridgeshire on Sunday! 💛

This year our trek has a very special setting, the village of Fulbourn. Not only is it a beautiful place to walk, but it's also where we’ll call home when our new Cambridge Air Base is built.

Every mile you walk will helps raise vital funds towards building the new base. It’s your community protecting the people you love and securing the future of lifesaving care across East Anglia.

See you at the start line! 🚁

I’ve had the most educating tour here, highly recommend.

I’ve had the most educating tour here, highly recommend.

On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September we'll be opening our base to the public as part of Heritage Open Days. Tickets are now live!

Explore the hangar where our helicopter is maintained, peek into the crew’s rest facilities and delve into our interactive training room. We'll also teach you the lifesaving skill of CPR.

Our crews are on standby 24/7, ready to respond to life-threatening emergencies at a moment’s notice. While some areas will be restricted due to operations, we will make every effort for you to see the helicopter, tasking dependant.

Sorting cattle with Sam and dad.

Tom Youngs speaking about his experience of farming next to our farm. I’ve been worried about the drought and the direct effects it’s having on Sam and dad’s sheep and cattle - sourcing extra feed at high prices, paying for marsh grazing but no grass….and so animals not getting fat ready to go for meat…..thus helping the cash flow….markets being flooded with stock that farmers cannot feed so the value is reduced. Along with concerns for the availability of winter cover crops as it’s been too dry to set them for many….It’s a real lesson in resilience for us. But added to the earlier changes in government legislation, reduction in subsidies etc tough decisions are having to be made to survive which also have knock on effects. I popped into the cattle market yesterday and the farmers have the same concerns but the community of the market is definitely a resource to be protected. We need to look after each other and be kind. It may prove to be too much for some.

Extremely sad news received today from our venue Euston Estate...

'It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected death of Robert Childerhouse the Estate Director at Euston. Our thoughts and condolences are with Robert’s family, friends, and colleagues at this very sad time Robert was a deeply valued colleague and an important member of the leadership team at Euston. We ask that everyone respects the privacy of the family and those closest to them, and we will share further information when appropriate'. Henry FitzRoy, 12th Duke of Grafton.

I'm so pleased to have enjoyed drinks with Robert recently at the Royal Norfolk Show. He seemed on good form as always and we enjoyed good banter.

Kate and I enjoyed tea and cake in the Estate office when Robert came into the position and at Christmas Robert invited us for Afternoon Tea followed by a candle lit tour of Euston Hall. Robert had a long journey back from Yorkshire that evening, but still made the effort to come and see Kate and I before clocking off.

Always a happy, smiley, calmly spoken soul that enjoyed walking his dog on the park whilst we set up the show, always popping into the office to say hello.

We are so saddened by this news and send our thoughts and prayers to his family and all at Euston Farm during this incredibly difficult time. Tracey

Please see lovely article linked in comments from Sarah Chambers EDP 24 highlighting some of Roberts achievements.
