aew and ringofhonor star Nathan Cruz is coming to APW at New Heights on Saturday 9th May live at Dawley Town Hall.

Cruz has been smashing the wrestling scene for 20 years and last year was signed to AEW last year where he has also became a coach. Nathan was also the first ever progresswrestling World Champion.

The question is who will he be taking on May 9th?

We’re incredibly grateful to Shaun Davies MP for Telford for his fantastic support in raising £700 for Dawley Town Hall 🎉

£700 raised for Dawley Town Hall 🎉

I’m really pleased that I’ve helped raise £700 for Town Hall
when I teamed up with the Betting and Gaming Council who promote safer gambling at this years grand national a few weeks ago!

I backed I Am Maximus at 8/1, and the winnings are now going directly to support local activities at Dawley Town Hall, including youth clubs and breakfast clubs for young people.

The Grand National is the only time I bet on horses, and it brings back childhood memories of picking a horse with my grandad. I know it’s not for everyone, but it’s great to see them benefit from this funding. Dawley Town Hall is also close to my heart, having helped restore it for community use, so it’s good to see it continue its important work.

The one time of year I have a flutter on the horses is the Grand National! It always takes me back to being a kid, picking a horse with my grandad and hoping for a bit of magic 🌟

This year, I was invited by the Betting and Gaming Council to place a charity bet - and I’ve backed I Am Maximus at 8/1.

If it comes in, £250 plus the winnings will go to Dawley Town Hall CIC - a place that means a huge amount to me. It’s a venue I was proud to help bring back into community use and lead for nearly 15 years, and one that continues to do so much for our community in Dawley.

The good news? Even if my horse doesn’t win, the Town Hall still receives £250 - so it’s a win either way.

While I was there, it was great to catch up with Nicola, who has worked in the Dawley Shop for 20 years. She told me how she started part-time and now works there full-time - a brilliant example of local dedication

It also felt like a bit of a full circle moment for me. My first job (after my paper round!) was at the Royal Bingo Hall in Dawley, including time as a bingo caller. I’ve got some great memories from those days.

I know horse racing and gambling isn’t for everyone, and I completely respect that. But for me, this was about backing a good cause and supporting a place that gives so much back!

Now… fingers crossed for Saturday 🐎
