Formerly known as The Mount Somerset, this much-loved landmark is about to begin an exciting new chapter. We’re busy breathing new life into the house, re-imagining every space and detail to create a stylish new venue for weddings and events in Somerset. As it reclaims its original name and character, Henlade House will open in Spring 202

It’s time for us to say hello 👋🏽

There is a big team behind the scenes that have transformed Henlade House in the last six months, and you’ll get to meet them soon…but a few weeks ago we hosted our first large event for a local corporate client who wanted a special location for their AGM, dinner and evening celebration 🥂

And so we wanted to share some photos of what turned out to be a brilliantly successful night, and take the opportunity to introduce our team.

✨ Melissa is our Event Manager and has been the first point of contact for many of our wedding and corporate clients. With a Masters in Event Management, and having worked in our business already for over 2 years, she is a pro!

✨ Ben and Damon (Head Chef and Sous Chef at our sister venue, Rockbeare Manor) have used their combined expertise to support in this early phase at Henlade House, creating incredible things in the kitchen. They will soon be passing the baton over to our new Head Chef ….more on that soon 👨🏻‍🍳

✨ Aimée and Andy are our Directors - who are involved in every aspect of creating this very beautiful new venue in Somerset, and guiding the rest of the team forward.

✨ Big thanks must also go to our wonderful waiting team - Ollie, Jemima, Maia and Lauren!

✨ B E D R O O M S ✨

When we first arrived at Henlade House in September, every bedroom was a shell. No bathrooms, flooring, furniture or furnishings. But with a lot of care and attention, and hard work from our passionate building team, led by Andy our Owner/Director - this is the result ✨

Huge thanks to our interior designer, Alex Cork, who has been involved in all four of our venues and created something quite magical at Henlade.

Our venues are well known as some of the best in the South West - we are dedicated to developing an attentive and committed team with a love of creating unforgettable moments, extraordinary events and not setting for second best.

We are looking for an Event Manager to work alongside a small team, during this exciting time, whilst we are establishing Henlade House as Somerset’s newest wedding and events venue.

The successful candidate will have at-least 3 years experience in a quality hospitality environment, and be confident in both sales and catering operations.

Henlade House is looking rather lovely at night time ✨

Now that the sunshine has started making an appearance we’ve been landscaping and laying some beautiful limestone pathways which has made all the difference. We’re focusing on the details, and seeing this beautiful property come to life day by day is very exciting.

We have already had the pleasure of hosting a couple of corporate events, with more planned in May and June, when our first weddings are also taking place.

Very soon, we’ll be able to show you our 15 fully refurbished, luxury bedroom suites - and we can’t wait.

But for now, here is a sneak peak of Room 1. With ‘s Setting Plaster providing a feminine and calm backdrop, a feature fireplace, matching furniture with French influences, as well as a freestanding copper bath - it’s the epitome of elegance ✨

The last few weekends have been rather busy, and we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming so many lovely newly engaged couples to explore Henlade House as a potential venue for their wedding. (There are a couple of appointments free this Sunday afternoon for those that may be interested 🤍)

Already, momentum is building where bookings are concerned with dates being snapped up for 2027, but especially exciting is the fact that there are already weddings in the diary for this year 🥂

Henlade House is still working progress, with our main focus now on re-fitting, decorating and furnishing all of the 18 bedrooms - the majority of which will be ready for the weddings booked in this year.

Being able to show our guests how the venue is being transformed, and seeing their reactions to the beautiful spaces that the’ve created so far, really is a treat!
