Joint 80th birthdays, three generations, and a long weekend at Tatham House in Somerset.
We love hearing from families like this one. They filled the house with children and grandchildren and made the most of a glorious late September: tennis, lunch on the terrace, the pool with the doors flung open, and the hot tub on warm evenings. Thank you so much for such a lovely review, and a big thank you to Ben for such a warm welcome.
So what makes Tatham House so special? Tucked down a leafy lane in the Somerset countryside, it sits behind wrought iron gates in three acres of lawns and orchard, with views across to the Quantock Hills.
Inside, there's an oak-panelled hall with a door into a little library, a stylish open-plan kitchen and dining room with a table big enough for everyone, and two elegant living rooms plus a snug for quieter moments. There are 10 en-suite bedrooms, two of them on the ground floor, sleeping up to 22.
And it's made for fun, whatever the weather. The indoor pool has bi-fold doors that open onto the walled garden, and there's a hot tub, an all-weather tennis court, and a lower ground floor with a cinema room, pool table, table tennis and table football. The grandparents can relax on the terrace while the youngsters have their own space to play, so there's something for every generation.
