Is your child eligible for free school meals? 🍽️

From September 2026, free school meal eligibility in England is changing. The main change is that all households receiving Universal Credit will qualify, regardless of income.

There is no major change planned for Wales, as universal free school meals for all primary school pupils are already in place.
