🌻 Sunshine, sunflowers & a little family fun! 🌻☀️

What a lovely morning we had today at gilbertsfarm_coffeeshop in Chippenham! 💛

We started with a wander through the beautiful sunflowers 🌻 (because is there anything more summery?!) before the girls challenged each other to a very competitive game of giant Jenga and Connect Four! 😂🎲

And of course, no family outing is complete without a little something to eat! 😋 We grabbed some delicious treats from the coffee shop — brownies, sausage rolls and an egg bap for me, washed down with a lovely iced latte! ☕️🧊

A pretty perfect summer morning if you ask me! 🥰🌻

The stay at home in our pjs sounds very appealing but not the dreaded suncream wrestle!! 😩 My girls are not big fans of suncream especially my eldest but I've been trying to get them to do some of the suncream themselves!

💭 💭 Fun fact about me… I’ve illustrated a children’s book! 📚✨

Yes really!!

📖 My mum, who sadly passed away last summer, was visually impaired and an amazing storyteller. She wrote three children’s books in large print and braille so more families could enjoy them. ❤️

I illustrated her first book, My Special Nanny. 🎨

It’s based on sweet moments between her and my eldest daughter—especially times at the park where my daughter would help her “see” the world a little differently. 🥹

I still feel I captured my mum perfectly in the illustrations. It’s such a special keepsake. 💕

😂 Here’s a bit of Friday Fun for you!

The graphic says:

Mine came out as:
“Tonight once the children are in bed I plan to go to the gym with a friend and I will be there for the rest of the night.” 🤣

Now, anyone who knows me will know that’s definitely not happening… I’ve never even set foot in a gym! 😂

My actual Friday night plans are much more likely to involve pjs, a cuppa (or maybe a glass of something nice 😉) and catching up on some much-needed chill time.

Can we take a moment for this adorable giggle? 🥹💛

Back in January, during our Build It! themed Family ARTventurers class, this little ARTist discovered the ball pool... and judging by that infectious laugh, I think it's safe to say it was a huge hit! 😂🎉

Moments like these are exactly why I love what I do – seeing little ones explore, play, create and laugh their hearts out. 💛

✨ Looking for a magical family day out this summer? ✨

If your children love books and stories as much as mine do, I can't recommend The Story Museum in Oxford enough! 📚💛

We visited earlier this year to celebrate my eldest daughter's birthday, and it was absolutely magical... even for me!

🦁 Stepping through the wardrobe into Narnia was a genuine childhood dream come true!

🐉 The How to Train Your Dragon area was another huge hit. The girls spent ages exploring, and I had no idea there were so many dragon stories to discover!

From interactive exhibits to beautifully immersive story worlds, there's something around every corner to capture children's imaginations (and the grown-ups' too!).

If you're looking for ideas to keep the kids entertained over the summer holidays, definitely add this one to your list.
