HERITAGE ROOTS SOLVING MODERN PROBLEMS; PITCH YOUR IDEA! 🎤🔥🎤

One of the greatest rewards of working with young creative minds is the split seconds and defining moments when they finally break through with a laudable idea. We witnessed similar moments with the young attendees at the C3 Centre for Creativity and Culture CIC and the Youth4Change Wales collaborative summer project “Roots in Rhythms”.

The “Pitch a Heritage Idea” Session encouraged young people to use heritage ideas to solve modern problems and to present a hypothetical pitch to a panel. The level of humour and brilliance in the presentation, and the genius of the ideas, were mind-blowing.

We appreciate all the observing parents and the many youths who turned out for this.

Our Karaokee and Sing-along session for children was an experimental delivery, one we intend to explore more on our new children’s project.

We are happy that the Roots in Rhythm Collaboration with Wales created a platform to explore just how children welcome sing-along activities.

It is still summer of fun activities and we are engaging our community at intergenerational levels. There is enough creative and cultural fun and activities for each age group. Special thanks to all the volunteers, participants, vendors, facilitators and partners making this happen.

One of our Summer outdoor activities took place right at the beach in the Swansea summer sun! Movement by the beach with musical accompaniment was an opportunity for family bonding and youth networking. This beautiful collaboration with has delivered very engaging and immersive summer experiences.

Special appreciation to all the young people and families who showed up. Our C3 Centre Summer of Fun has been truly fun. We invite our community to our upcoming events.

Culture can also be seen and felt through the intangible piece of arts and aesthetics. Stenciling culture for us at C3 was a deliberate mapping of heritage designs on patterned Ankara canvas.

These layers of colours and shapes on patterns of Ankara colours was a double layer of fun. We appreciate all our summer facilitators and young people who keep showing up for our summer collaboration with Youth4Change Wales.

The beauty of collaboration lies in the harmonisation of ideas and the willingness of all parties involved to bring their best foot forward. The C3 Centre for Creativity and Culture CIC concluded yet another strategy meeting for our Annual year-end Christmas event.

Watch this space for the roll-out of the beauty that we are creating with the larger National Wales Museum through the National Waterfront Museum. As we inch closer to the Yuletide season and the -ember months, we bring you a confetti of creative and heritage offerings.

Keep a close watch across our handles.

It is going to be a “Summering Summer” at the C3 Centre for Creativity and Culture CIC. We invite all young people, children and families to come share in our Summer of Fun line up of activities.

This summer, we will do textiles, trips, heritage sessions, music, instrumentation, enlightening sessions, open mics, ideation and lots more.

We will be closing our summer with the finale of our Amplify Voices to Unlock Futures Project. We look forward to yet another beautiful summer of fun experience for all the young people and adults in our community.

We will also be launching our new children’s project which will support children of ages 0 to 5 to achieve major early years milestones, in the coming weeks.

November 2025 we recorded a project that has taken us months to shape. In our line of delivery we work with professionals across diverse arms of the creative sector and one challenge remained, their struggle for visibility, platform and the time to develop their creative practice.

This C3 Centre for Creativity and Culture CIC Production is a convergence of many multi-genre talents who generously shared their experiences in this first of its kind documentary, “The Creative ‘Underdogs’: We Who Arrived by Air”. We are sharing our struggles with the wider creative and cultural industry community with the hope that we initiate an important conversation of expanding the platforms of creativity to under-represented crafts, talents and individuals.

This is us creating that table, inviting ourselves while enjoining the wider public to come share in our creative offerings while noting the many challenges we face while developing our practice. These are artists who deliver facilitated sessions at our C3 Centre events, for children, young adults/teenagers, adults, families and seniors.

We celebrate all featured volunteering artists, these are some of the people who ensure transferability of unique creative skills in our community. To the C3 Centre that ensured this production through personal funds, and all who supported and continue to support our journey, we appreciate you all.

This is the trailer to that production and hopefully we will be sharing it with our creative community in due time.

“THE CREATIVE U̶N̶D̶E̶R̶D̶O̶G̶S̶: WE WHO ARRIVED BY AIR”.

Memories matter. Community matters. Culture matters. Making memories, creating defining moments at community events, sharing the goods of culture and the arts, drive our deliveries. Our team of twelve talented individuals were present at the National Waterfront Refugee week.

This beautiful collaboration by different organisations and the National Waterfront Museum was a beautiful atmosphere of creativity. There was the Swansea Market Corner and a long aisle of stalls. At the centre of it all was the open air stage and tent for creative renditions.

We loved every bit of this experience as we delivered;
1) Melodramatic Storytelling and Poetry
2) Dance and choreography
3) Drumming and instrumentation
4) Chant
5) Audience Participation Dance Circle.

MEMORIES ACROSS SCHOOLS IN WALES
The C3 Centre Cultural Arm, the Nganga Performing Arts and Mobile Theatre was present to deliver at the St Joseph Cathedral Diversity Week:

1) Two Assemblies with storytelling and conversational engagement.
2) 4 Sessions of instrumentation
3) One harmonious bobble of fun experience for the children and teachers.
4) Over 200 students reached

Our four-man team had a great day answering questions, taking the children through the harmonisation of different sounds from different African instruments. These cultural and rhythmic skill sessions truly shows the tapestry of St Joseph as the children enjoyed their diversity day and had fun defining what diversity meant to them.
