Fudge Update! 💜
We’ve had lots of you asking about our much loved Fudge, who was a temporary resident at the Gower Heritage Centre — so here’s a little update!
Fudge is now a sprightly 29 years young and has been with us for an incredible 28 years! She lives with Equine Metabolic Syndrome — a condition a bit like diabetes in humans — which means she can’t have sugary grass. 🍬🚫🌱
Managing this isn’t easy as keeping a horse away from grass is no small task…
Many horses with this condition end up spending most of their time stabled. Fudge’s sassy nature means she she would never stand for that so we had to come up with a something else for her.
Thanks to the kind owners at the Gower Heritage Centre, Fudge now has a custom-built, grass-free track system at a nearby farm. This means she gets to enjoy movement, freedom, and fresh air — all while staying safe and healthy. 🌿💛
Pudding’s son, Pumpkin, is doing a wonderful job of keeping her company, and together they’re both enjoying their peaceful, happy life. 🐴🐴
Here is a photo of her today, followed by two from when she was five years old. I used to spend hours and hours grooming her! 💜
Thank you all for caring so much about her.
Fudge sends her love! 💕
