The Mowlem

15/10/2026

Join us at The Mowlem for an evening with Richard Evans' as he discusses his book 'Looking Backwards Towards The Future: The Story of Ultravox' 🎶

From art-school outsiders to chart-conquering icons, Ultravox carved out one of the most distinctive paths in British music.

Celebrating the first authorised biography of Ultravox: from the experimental early years and John Foxx era, through the arrival of Midge Ure, global success, fallouts, ambition and their unexpected reunion.

Ultravox may not be joining us in person… but their story certainly will.

Tickets are now ON SALE for Swanage Musical Theatre Company's production Our House!

📆 Thursday 18th, Friday 19th and Saturday 20th March 2027

Set to the irresistible hits of Madness, Our House is a fast-paced, funny and heartfelt musical about love, family and the choices that shape our lives.
On the night of his 16th birthday, Joe Casey takes girlfriend Sarah on a date that ends with a split-second decision: face the consequences of his actions… or run.
From that moment, Joe’s life divides in two. We follow Good Joe and Bad Joe down wildly different paths as each version discovers that every choice has a consequence – and that doing the right thing isn’t always as simple as it seems.

One night. One choice. Two very different futures.

Bursting with energy, romance, humour and iconic Madness songs including “Our House,” “Baggy Trousers,” “It Must Be Love” and “House of Fun,” Our House is an uplifting British musical packed with heart, nostalgia and plenty of ska-powered fun.

Which path would you choose?

Do you have a Mowlem cup at home, we’d love it back! Read more below!

We love that you love our cups, but if you have any at home that you're not using, we'd love to have some back!

We stopped charging a deposit over the summer as it was so busy but we lost a lot of cups as a result - they are just so nice, and a 'free' cup is even more nicerer!

So we're holding a no blame, no judgement amnesty for unwanted Mowlem festival cups - drop them in anytime, leave them in the lobby or bring them up to the bar between 5 and 6.30pm. In return, we'll gladly sell you a Happy Hour drink!
