As the weather becomes a little more unpredictable as we head into autumn, remember — a little rain certainly doesn’t have to spoil a tipi wedding!

In fact, there’s something pretty special about a rainy day under canvas…

✨ The sound of the rain on the tipi creates the cosiest atmosphere.
✨ Everyone naturally gathers together, which makes for an amazing party.
✨ Tipis are made for all weathers — warm, dry and beautifully atmospheric inside.
✨ Festoon lights, candles and fire pits feel even more magical on a grey autumn day.
✨ Rainy wedding photos can be some of the BEST — grab the umbrellas and embrace it!
✨ And when the rain stops, those dramatic skies and gorgeous autumn light are a photographer’s dream.

So if the forecast shows a few little rain clouds on your wedding day, don’t panic. Tipi weddings were made for embracing the unpredictable British weather. 🌧️🍂

And judging by these smiles… a bit of rain certainly didn’t stop the fun!

Come and see The Hidden Hive in all its autumn glory on Sunday 13th September, 11am–3pm.

Wander through our beautiful tipis, explore the Honey Bee Barn, take in the woodland and lakeside setting and start imagining exactly what your own wedding day could look like here. 🤍

Our team will be on hand to chat through your plans, answer your questions and show you around this wonderfully relaxed, festival-meets-luxe Derbyshire wedding venue.

Whether you’ve already fallen a little bit in love with The Hidden Hive or you’re just starting your venue search, we’d love to welcome you.
