It’s a beautiful day for getting in the garden so I’ve opened my driveway stand until 2pm today.

I have pre planted bowls with autumn flowering crocus, violas and pansies for instant colour, perfect for by the front door or looking out from the kitchen window.

If you’re looking to refresh tired summer pots or borders I have some pansies perfect for filling a gap.

I still have some packed bulbs available including very early flowering daffodils, crocus, iris, tulips and a few others that will flower from February until May.

Next weekend is the last time I’ll have autumn plants and bulbs so I’ve put a few offers on today too 🙂

I’m sowing Spring Sunshine sweet peas today, they’re bred to flower earlier in the year which is exactly what I’m hoping for.
I don’t pre-soak the seeds
I don’t chit (break the shell)

I put 3 seeds about 1 inch deep into a 9cm pot, put them in a deep tray of water for about 20 minutes to really moisten the compost.
I’ll leave them in my greenhouse until they’re about 3 inches tall (mainly to stop the birds getting them), then they’ll stay outside over winter to make them strong and sturdy (hopefully!)

A couple of people have asked about wreaths, so here’s one I made earlier (well, about an hour ago!).

I’ll be making a slightly smaller version, along with a few other things for Christmas. They’ll all be made using fresh fir, foliage from the garden and some natural decorations, including pine cones, dried oranges, cinnamon and lotus heads.

I’m quite pleased with how this one turned out!

The fog has lifted and it’s turned into a beautiful autumn day at Meridale ☀️

Come and choose some colour for now, and a little promise of spring for later. I have autumn bedding, ready-made planters and packs of bulbs from varieties I grow myself.

Spend £15 and choose a free cyclamen as a little thank you 🌸

Where to find me over the next couple of weeks

Come and choose some colour for now, or take home a little promise of spring to come.

I’ll have bedding plants and ready-made planters I’ve grown, plus packs of the spring-bulb varieties I grow myself—so I know they’ll put on a lovely show.

Saturday 3rd October – Trusthorpe Village Hall, 10–2

Sunday 4th October – Meridale, 10–4

Saturday 10th October – George Street Church Hall, Mablethorpe, 10–4

Saturday 17th October – Enterprise Hall, 10–2

After that, I’ll be taking a couple of weeks away from fairs while I get everything ready for the Christmas fairs in November - I’ll still be a busy bee though! 😂

It doesn’t matter how many seeds I grow, I still get excited when they germinate.

These are ‘our fair lady’ wallflowers that will (hopefully!) be lovely bushy, flowering plants by mid spring.

It’s that time of year when I’m doing the only sensible thing after a day at work - planting the first of next years cut flowers by torchlight 😂

This is a white cornflower (snowman) sowed at the end of August. Getting them in the ground now allows them to get strong roots before the really cold weather and that means I’ll get flowers earlier in spring than if I sowed in March.

I will also be sowing more of these in spring to give me flowers over a longer period.

My driveway stand is open today until 4pm 🌸 🍂

I have pick-and-mix plants for colour from autumn into spring, autumn bedding packs, colourful planted bowls and a large selection of spring-flowering bulbs ready to plant now.

All the bulb varieties are ones I grow in my own garden, so I know they’re good choices.

Please feel free to come and have a nosey at what I’ve got growing for spring—or just stop for a chat.
