We welcomed John Hirst and fellow walkers Liz, Sandra and Doreen. John is walking 70 miles to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society. On his travels John called at the Kepier for a welcome pit stop and a warm brew.

We wish him well for his endeavours and hope he raises a good amount for this worthwhile cause.

You can read about it more here as well as the link to his fundraising page - https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/26094086.stockton-doctors-70-mile-walk-memory-wife-dementia/

Originally opened in 1574 by Rector Bernard Gilpin as a grammar school, Kepier Hall remained a place of learning until the school closed in 1922. Today, the Grade II listed building is rich in history and continues to play an important role in the community.

Over the years, the hall has hosted countless weddings, baptisms, birthday celebrations, and gatherings following funerals, creating many special memories for local families.

The building is also home to several community groups, with a wide range of activities taking place throughout the week. Keep an eye on our page for updates on what’s happening, and please feel free to get in touch with any queries.

If you are interested in hiring a space for an event, activity, or community group, we would also be happy to discuss availability and bookings with you.

Do you have any memories of the hall you’d like to share? We’d love to hear them in the comments below. If anyone is interested in learning more about the history of the building, our caretaker would be happy to chat — just get in touch.
