We do have “off-peak” weddings of course, but naturally the winter months are quieter in the wedding industry, and I would actually argue that this time is just as important as those crazy “peak” months.

For us, it’s a time to breathe, look at the business from the outside in, and prepare for the upcoming season so we enter it at the top of our game!🌷

I love this photo by as a floral designer my only wish once we’ve delivered and set up your designs on your special day is that you enjoy the flowers to the fullest (as even the highest quality flowers will not last forever!) I’m not sure what design this hydrangea was pulled out of but I do know it was enjoyed, and that is all I could ask for…

So if you want to pull a flower out your designs on your wedding day and use it as a microphone like Paige, please do! Just be sure to get a great photo for us…

Every design starts with mechanics, not flowers, the foundation that supports our work and keeps the materials alive 📏✂️

Here’s one way to create a foam-free design:

~ Take a watertight container and some chicken or thatching wire

~ Cut the wire to a suitable size and shape for your container

~ Tie the wire in place if needed

~ Fill your wire with moss

~ Secure again if needed

~ Attach the mossage to your container

~ Dampen the moss

~ Measure and mark out the size you need to create

~ Gather your foliage. I selected:
🌿 Soft ruscus to help create the desired shape
🌳 Pistache to help cover the mechanics and add fragrance
🪴 Red skimmia to complement the colour scheme

~ Take your time adding the foliage to ensure you are creating the right shape

~ Save any offcuts, as these can be used for the back of the design

~ Add the flowers in the chosen style for the event 💃🪩
