It’s June, a great month - all the best people are born in June 😊, it’s summer and then we have Pride.
It’s already causing upset on socials as the branding comes out. What we need to remember is the true meaning.
Pride was not created to celebrate being gay. It emerged from a history of discrimination, criminalisation, job loss, family rejection, and violence directed at LGB people.
Businesses need to stop using rainbow branding for profit or publicity and people should focus on community, progress and remembrance.
