A special mention to photographer Kim .photography2, videographer James and our own Social Media and Marketing Manager Zoë who were behind the camera throughout the shoot. When we asked if they’d fancy a day photographing our recommended caterers, the answer was a very quick yes! Having worked alongside many of them at weddings over the years, they knew exactly how good the food was going to be - and *may* have had to taste test to make sure it was good enough for our couples…spoiler alert: it is!

R O S E G A R D E N C E R E M O N Y 🌹

Last weekend, Becki and Jack got married in our Rose Garden 🌹
It had been a morning of sunshine and showers, but we were keeping a very close eye on the weather (thank you, rain radar app, for being frighteningly accurate 👀).

We could see that, at the exact ceremony time, there was a window of opportunity - and because it was always Becki and Jack’s dream to get married outside in our beautiful Rose Garden, we were going to do everything we could to make it happen.

And we did ✨
It was such a beautiful, intimate ceremony and we made it all the way through…but just as they were signing the paperwork, the heavens opened ☔️
So, in true wedding-day teamwork fashion, we moved everyone quickly into the Main Barn for the final moments and that all-important walk back down the aisle.

A day of sunshine, showers, quick decisions, and a little bit of magic. Congratulations to you both 🤍

C E L E B R A N T | C E R E M O N I E S ⭐️

Courtney & Sam are proof that your wedding ceremony can be completely, unapologetically you. 🤍

Their celebrant-led ceremony (led by ) was all about fun, personality and bringing their guests into the moment from the very start. Before the ceremony even properly began, they kicked things off with a shot (Tequila Rose!) together 🥃

But they didn’t want their guests feeling left out either…so hidden underneath a handful of chairs were surprise envelopes with a ‘voucher’ for a shot at the bar later (with non-alcoholic options available too, of course 🍸).

They then played a hilarious Mr & Mrs game in front of all their family and friends before moving into their vows. And honestly…if you’ve ever wondered whether a celebrant ceremony might be for you, this is your sign.

One of the biggest differences between a celebrant and registrar ceremony is the level of personality and flexibility you can bring into it. Registrar ceremonies are legally binding and so have stricter rules and wording they need to follow (btw our Oxfordshire registrars are amazing and super lovely!). Celebrant ceremonies, however, are completely bespoke. They’re not legally binding but many couples marry a few days before legally. Your celebrant takes the time to properly get to know you as a couple - your story, your personalities, your humour, your people - and creates a ceremony that genuinely feels like you. Whether that’s emotional, relaxed, chaotic, funny, unconventional…or all four.

At Stratton Court Barn we’re lucky enough to have two incredible celebrants on our Recommended Supplier list - the wonderful Zadie and the lovely Zoe (completely unplanned that they both have names beginning with ‘Z’ ✨). They are both fab at what they do and have such a talent for creating ceremonies that feel warm, personal and memorable for every couple they work with.

at just hits differently ✨🌅

As the evenings continue stretch longer (all hail British Summertime!), the light softens and the whole place starts to glow. There’s something about sunset here - warm, golden, and completely magical.

From the open fields to the lake, the Rose Garden to the sweeping drive, every corner becomes the perfect backdrop. As the sun begins to dip, the whole atmosphere shifts…cocktails flowing (and we do some excellent ones here 🍸), music building, guests gathered in the courtyard on this beautiful light before the evening really begins 🪩 💃🏻 🕺🏻
