We’re opening the doors to our new Poppy’s Play Patch space for more trial play sessions throughout October! 🥳

For just £2 per child, come and enjoy:

🧸 Soft play
🏡 Role play
🎨 Arts & crafts
🌈 Sensory activities & tuff trays
👶 Dedicated baby area
✨ And more!

We’re still creating our permanent home, so these sessions are all about playing, testing ideas and finding out what families love before we complete the finished space.

⏰ 9:30–11am or 12–1:30pm
💷 £2 per child – payable on the door

🏃‍♂️ 50KM IN SEPTEMBER — COMPLETE! ❤️

51.35km done! ✅

At the beginning of September I signed up to run 50km throughout the month for Sands - baby loss charity, and tonight I’ve officially crossed the finish line.

I’m not a natural runner, and there have been a few occasions this month where going out for another run was the last thing I fancied doing 😂 But kilometre by kilometre, I got there.

I chose to do the challenge for Sands – the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society, a charity that I respect. It was never one I knew of up until recently actually, but any charity within this sort of remit deserves huge amounts of support and recognition.

Sands supports people affected by pregnancy and baby loss, as well as working to improve bereavement care, maternity safety and research to help save babies’ lives.

This month also included the 13th anniversary of losing Poppy, which made completing this challenge feel that little bit more special. ❤️

What started as a 50km target finished at 51.35km, and I’m pretty proud to say I stuck with it and got it done.

A massive thank you to everyone who has donated or supported me so far.

I’d love to give the fundraising total one final push now that the challenge is complete. If anyone would like to donate, even a couple of pounds, it all goes towards an incredible charity supporting families through something nobody should ever have to experience.
You’re donating to support families impacted by child loss. Something I wish no one had to endure but sadly many do. Charities like Sands are extremely special, offering support at a time where your life is turned upside down.

✨ BIG NEWS… POPPY’S PLAY PATCH IS GETTING A HOME! ✨

We’ve been keeping a rather exciting (not so secret) secret… 🤭

Poppy’s Play Patch is officially getting its very own permanent venue! ❤️

What started as a little soft play hire business is growing into something we’ve dreamed about from the very beginning — a welcoming, inclusive space for children, parents, carers and families to play, connect and feel at home.

Our new venue will have so much more than soft play, including:
🛝 Our much-loved soft play�🏡 A play village for little imaginations�🧸 A dedicated baby area�🎨 Tuff trays & messy/sensory play�✨ A sensory section�☕ A space to sit, chat and meet other families�🤍 And lots of special sessions and groups throughout the week

We’ll be creating dedicated sessions for different families and stages of parenthood too, including new mums’ groups, dads’ mornings, SEN-friendly sessions, bereaved parents’ meet-ups and more.

Because we want Poppy’s Play Patch to be more than somewhere you take the kids to burn off some energy.

We want it to be a community. 🤍

A place where you can turn up having had a rubbish morning and know nobody is judging.
A place where your little one can play while you have a coffee and a chat.
A place where new parents can meet people who get it.
A place where every child can feel included.
A place where families can make friends, make memories and, hopefully, feel like they belong. 🌿

We’re aiming to open our doors in December 2026 at Mount Farm Shop and we genuinely cannot wait to welcome you in!

Thank you for joining us today!

We had such a lovely time at today’s special Poppy’s Play Day, celebrating Poppy, her anniversary and our recent award nominations.
Going from booking time off work for these sort of occasions over the last 12 years, avoiding people the best I could and quietly mourning, to now hosting our play days and celebrating Poppy for all that she was. It’s been a huge change of pace, and it’s really lovely spending it with families enjoying the space we’ve created in honour of Poppy.

I only managed to get a few photos of me and Emrys carrying the boxes in, and just one of the actual event set up. We were too busy getting everything ready, welcoming families and making sure everyone had a lovely time!

Our first session was lovely and busy, and it was so nice seeing lots of little ones playing, exploring and having fun. Thank you so much to everyone who came along, donated and helped make the day special. 🥰

We did want to mention one little thing from today, though.

For our second session, we had 11 families booked in, but unfortunately only one family attended. (But it was so nice to talk and get to know them better)

We completely understand that life with little ones is unpredictable and plans sometimes have to change at the last minute , we really do get it! But if you’ve booked a free place and can no longer attend, please just let us know.

A lot goes into putting these days on. We pay to hire the venue, buy food and drinks based on the number of families booked, transport and set everything up, and give our time to make the sessions as lovely as we can.

We don’t run these days expecting to make money, that’s never what they’re about — but when spaces are booked and not used, it means food and drink can go to waste and other families may miss the opportunity to come along.

Having 10 families not attend one session without notice was therefore a real shame , but it was still a lovely way to spend Poppy’s anniversary regardless.

Today was always about doing something positive around a difficult anniversary, remembering a very special little girl and celebrating everything that has grown from her story. Thank you to all those reading Poppy’s story on our website and socials, coming to our events, and engaging in conversation around her. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came, played, donated, chatted and spent part of their day with us. We loved seeing you all.

❤️ WE'RE READY FOR TOMORROW!❤️

The soft play is (almost!) packed, the activities are ready and we're really looking forward to welcoming everyone tomorrow for a very special Poppy's Play Patch Play Day. 🥰

Tomorrow is a little different to our usual play days.

September is always an important month for our family as we remember Poppy, but this year we also get to celebrate some pretty special things that have happened in her name.

🏆 Being named Best Soft Play Provider – Central England 2026

🏆 Becoming a finalist for Best Community Contribution at the UK Small Business Awards

And, most importantly, another opportunity to bring local families together to play, have fun and create some happy memories – which is exactly what Poppy's Play Patch was created to do.

We'll have soft play, tuff trays, arts & crafts, activities for the little ones and some light refreshments waiting for you.

September marks Poppy's anniversary – and every year it's a time when we think about her, (try to) talk about her and remember the little girl behind everything we do.

This year, we also have a couple of lovely milestones to celebrate in her memory.
● Poppy's Play Patch has been named Best Soft Play Provider – Warwickshire 2026
● And we've been selected as a finalist for Best Community Contribution at the UK
Small Business Awards.

When we started Poppy's Play Patch, I simply wanted to create something positive in Poppy's name.
Something that allowed children and families to have fun, helped me feel more confident and comfortable telling people about Poppy and Smith Lemli Opitz Syndrome, and enabled us to give something back through our community play days.

So we'd love families to join us on Saturday 26th September for a special celebration play day.
