The only time I would personally say yes, is if it’s more of a party celebration of your recent marriage, not so much a wedding ‘day’. However, if you are all about the fun and less about traditions.. go for it!! 👻

It’s Halloween 🎃

This weekend I hosted a Halloween party which was an absolute blast (if I say so myself 🤣). I can’t share all photos or videos as lots of children there but if you are thinking of doing a party this week, here are my top tips to help you have fun:

Decorations - the spookier the better!
Food table - dress it and use Halloween bowls & props.
The food - make it fun, monster croissants, mummy brioche rolls, spider Oreo’s, pumpkin brains and so much more!
Games - treasure hunts, mummy wrapping, witches broomstick relay, monster mash musical statues
Music - upbeat & spooktacular
Characters - fancy dress is always more fun
Craft section - plenty of colouring, stickers, stencils & gluing
Play - keep out the kids old toys (trust me on this lol), LEGO tables, jumbo jenga, co****le, trampoline, balance beams and general garden games.

Want to keep the cost down? Ask everyone to bring a bottle of something. The food doesn’t have to be expensive, we put the bbq on and cooked jumbo sausages for hot dogs. Then made croissants, brioche rolls, snacks galore.

When what you think are big moments go wrong, just laugh it off 🤷🏼‍♀️

I remember this moment vividly, my sister had bought us a personalised wooden cake knife set, and as we cut into the cake the handle snapped off the knife and we couldn’t stop laughing as we nearly took down the cake!

If that hadn’t of happened, we wouldn’t have got candid shots of us laughing in this moment, and this is actually one of my personal favourites of the day.

My advice to you would be to just enjoy your wedding day, most people only get one so have fun. Don’t worry about the little things people don’t notice or think “oh that could have ruined it” because ultimately if something’s going to happen, it will … just ride the love wave and be in the moment 💋

In the spirit of Halloween, I’m going to share moments that “almost go wrong” at weddings!

TODAYS TOPIC
The moment the music wouldn’t play for the ceremony.

Picture this, the bride and her bridesmaids turn up ready to walk down the aisle and BOOM the music won’t play. The song they’d downloaded wasn’t working, so as their on day coordinator I had to think on my quick little feet! Thankfully signal was on my side that day and I managed to download the song on my phone … yes I saved the ceremony (pat on the back for me) 🤣

My advice - ALWAYS check your music is working prior to the ceremony, just before guest arrival.

Love is Fur-ever … so who needs a ring bearer when you can have your pup by your side 🤷🏼‍♀️

There are a few niggles you might have, such as; unpredictability of their actions, venue restrictions, heat, noise, stress & potential p**p moments 🤣

If you’re thinking, “who’s going to look after our pup on the day?” There are dog chaperones for that, just like my friend Chris who handles everything on the day.

The perks of having your pride and joy at the wedding, is; the cuteness factor especially in the ceremony, unforgettable photos with your pup, guest ice breakers and emotional support for you both.

My top tip? Let your pup be part of the ceremony, pose for a few photos then have the dog chaperone take them off site or for a long walk so you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day 🩷

Caterpillar tables at a wedding, thoughts? 💭

Intimate weddings of 40 or less is a big YES for me! I think they look stunning, you can chat to people, the bulk of the table is in one section of the room freeing up lots of space for other activities and it’s just so elegant.

You may not agree because logistically they can be a pain with guests backs on one another, but if your clever and put children in those seats, it saves that problem 🤷🏼‍♀️
