Room 101 - The Wedding edition is back!!

Let’s just say that this episode is very organic, my business partner needs some more training 🤣

We’d love to “bin” 3 wedding related things this week and they are:

1. Make up that is not cruelty free and is tested on animals! This is a big no for us!!!
2. Weddings that have children but don’t provide entertainment for them. I think it’s a no brainer, keep the children entertained and they won’t cause trouble 😁
3. Personalised gifts for guests. I mean, why oh why? Will your guest wear or display those gifts after the wedding? Most likely not!! Meaning there are possibly more items going to landfill.

But not just any wedding, this was the heavily protested Bezos - Sanchez wedding a few weeks ago.

The wedding reportedly emitted over 10,000 tonnes of CO2, that's the equivalent of 1,500 people's annual emissions.

The shocking numbers (as we know it);
💰$10 million
✈️ 96 private jets - 8,700 t CO2e
⛵Yacht emissions - 1,500 t CO2e
🚁Helicopter rides - 3 t CO2e

CRAZY!!!!

What should a wedding be about?
Should it be about two people who have the deepest love for each other?

Should it be about celebrating the life the couple is going to share and the journey they are embarking on?

Should it be about legacy and positive impact?

Yes, yes, yes 💯%!!!
In my opinion, the above applies to everyone whether you are a millionaire or not.

Leave a legacy with your wedding not an enormous carbon footprint.
It's time that weddings with a purpose are normalised and the sooner they become a norm, the better.

Every mindful choices makes a difference 💚
And it doesn’t have to be all or nothing!
