I’m a Celebrant who loves creating relaxed and intimate ceremonies that help you to celebrate and commemorate important life events with your loved ones.
Celebrating the coming together of two people with a personal Wedding Ceremony, welcoming a new member into your family, or a Vow Renewal to celebrate a milestone Wedding Anniversary. And also a Celebration of Life Ceremony to help you say your goodbyes in your own way. Whatever the occasion I’ll work closely with you to ensure you have the special ceremony you’ve been thinking of. It will be written especially for you. I put 100% commitment into every ceremony I create.
Do you want to make your Vows to each other in front of your friends and relatives with a Wedding Ceremony that isn’t restricted by rules and regulations? I enjoy creating intimate, relaxed Symbolic Wedding Ceremonies where couples can indulge themselves with a bespoke ceremony created for them in their own style. I can create a ceremony which has no official restrictions. You can even write your own Wedding Vows, which will reflect you and your personalities. Favourite poetry and readings can be included, and you get to play any kind of music you want. Ritual elements from Spiritual or Religious traditions can also be a part of your ceremony.
I especially enjoy informal and relaxed ceremonies which are full of joy and laughter. Every ceremony should have humour in it. We’re all human and we do like to have a little fun as well.
Have the Ceremony anywhere you want to - indoors or outside. If you like the idea of a ‘blue sky ceremony’ under the open sky I can do that for you. Forest Weddings are becoming more and more popular. Or maybe you’d like to be by a lovely lake or a sea view? Do you have a large garden? What about a marquee/tipi? You can have your ceremony and your reception anywhere you wish.
If you prefer a country house hotel, a stately home, or a barn conversion - no problem. Whatever venue you choose I’ll craft a heartfelt, relaxed and symbolic ceremony just for you.
It’s usual to make a 15-20 minute low cost legal marriage ceremony at the Registry Office a few days before you have your Symbolic Celebrant led Wedding Ceremony at the venue of your choice. (this costs around £60)
Celebration of Life Ceremonies
I’ve been working with families and professionals in my community for over 20 years. After attending a lot of funeral services for friends and family in a short space of time I saw how uplifting some ceremonies could be and wanted to help more grieving families have that same experience. I trained with The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, the largest organisation for Celebrants in the UK.
I support families within a 20 mile radius of Stourbridge and will help you to have the farewell ceremony that you’d like for your loved one. As well as offering ceremonies at your local Crematorium I can also give you the opportunity to have a Funeral/Celebration of Life Ceremony at any venue of your own choosing, and at a time and day that suits you. This may be at a Crematorium, a Sports Club, Restaurant, Community Hall or another local venue that had a special meaning to your loved one. I can even create a Ceremony for you and your family in your home/garden if you’d like it.
This kind of ceremony isn’t restricted by the 20/30 minutes allowed in Crematoriums. Having the Farewell Ceremony at the same place as the Wake means you and your family and friends don’t need to transfer to another venue as you can hire your chosen Venue for an afternoon/evening or a few hours as you wish. Holding the Ceremony and Wake in the early evening will mean that more people will be able to attend. Especially those who are unable to get time off work. I am very flexible about this.

Baby Naming Ceremony
If you’re not particularly Religious but would like to celebrate a new addition to your family then a Naming Ceremony does just that. Whether it’s for a newborn, an adopted/foster child or two families coming together as a ‘blended family’. I’d be delighted to create a bespoke Ceremony which includes the whole family. The ceremony will be written especially for you. It can be held at your home or at any other venue that you choose.
Humans have always had ceremonies. They’re a way for us to address the important changes in our status. From birth, teenage rites, moving from single status to married, becoming a parent or a guide-parent, adoption, reaffirming relationships with Renewal of Vows, and finally saying farewell with a Celebration of Life Ceremony.
I’ve always been creative and I’m enjoying putting my creative skills into crafting unique Ceremonies for families. Intimate, Heartfelt, Symbolic Ceremonies which really are a wonderful alternative to the current limited offerings of Religious and Government Services.
