Trip this morning to see Mike Phase One picked up a few Prolight Concepts Group products to add to my ever growing stock more Equinox zoom spot 200 moving heads in white and some equinox maxipars for truss lighting. Straight in the van for tonight’s wedding. Top service as always from Mike

There is a moment in every wedding where the dance floor goes quiet, the lights dim, and the couple steps onto what looks like a cloud.
Our “Dancing on Clouds” effect uses dry ice fog that stays low to the floor — no smoke alarms, no sticky residue, just pure cinema for your first dance. It photographs beautifully and feels even better than it looks.
If you have ever wondered whether it is worth it: every couple who has booked it has said it was one of their favourite memories of the day.

Let us settle the great first-debate once and for all.
This or that: a classic slow dance (think Ed Sheeran, Etta James, Elvis) vs a choreographed surprise routine that flips into something upbeat?
We have seen both bring the house down. The trick is choosing the version that feels like you, not the one you think you “should” pick.
Comment your winner below. Bonus points if you tell us your actual first-dance song

Another incredible night at Durham Castle. There’s something special about filling a room with that much history with dancing, laughter, and a packed floor from first dance to last song. Huge thanks to the happy couple for trusting us with their day, and to every guest who gave it everything on the floor.

Wishing you both a lifetime of it.

You will see “fully PAT certified” on our website. But what does it actually mean — and why should you care?

PAT stands for Portable Appliance Testing. It is the safety check every piece of electrical equipment must pass before it is used at your wedding. Cables, speakers, lights, effects — everything.

Combined with our £10 million Public Liability Insurance, it means you are protected. Not just legally, but practically. Your venue will almost certainly ask for both. We provide the certificates without you having to chase.

Safety is not the sexiest wedding topic, but it is one of the most important. Save this post for your venue meeting.

There are venues, and then there are venues.
Wynyard Hall is one of those spaces that makes our job easy. Grand rooms, beautiful grounds and couples who know how to throw a party. We have hosted ceremonies, drinks receptions and full evening discos here — and every time the acoustics and atmosphere deliver.
If you are getting married at Wynyard Hall, drop your date in the comments. We would love to know if our calendars overlap.

Monday morning looks like this: cables, mics, RCF speakers, lighting stands, cold spark unit, confetti cannon and enough batteries to power a small village.
Every wedding starts long before the first guest arrives. The van pack is part ritual, part military operation. If it is not on the checklist, it is not coming.
Brides and grooms — what is the one thing you are most nervous about on your wedding day? Let us know below.

Some of you know the voice, the playlists and the dance floor — but not everyone knows the story.

Alastair Reay has spent over 30 years in live events. From small village halls to Wynyard Hall, Lumley Castle and Matfen Hall, he has hosted hundreds of weddings across Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Teesside and York. He does not just turn up and press play. He plans the timeline, supports the speeches, reads the room and makes sure the first dance feels like a film scene.

If you are newly engaged and starting to think about entertainment, drop a comment or send a message. No pressure, just honest advice.
