We are delighted to announce Tynedale Agricultural Societies annual charity ball on Saturday 21st November.
Kerry our show secretary sadly lost her brother to a GBM4 brain tumour in 2014, the show has been a great support to Kerry and her family over the years and the society decided that this year, the ball will fundraise for Brain Tumour Research.

The Show Ball will take place in the function suite at Hexham Auction Mart and will include a delicious two course dinner, catered by Karen Ballantyne. EPS Security have kindly sponsored our band for the evening 'Soul Street' who will be making sure you have sore feet by the end of the night! With a live auction and raffle, we hope to raise a fantastic amount for this amazing charity.

Today, on the National Day for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism, we remember those whose lives have been changed by terrorism and stand in solidarity with all victims and survivors.

We recognise the importance of Martyn’s Law and are committed to working towards its implementation, helping to ensure our events and public spaces are protected and as safe as possible for everyone.

We have been so busy this year with our Young Ambassadors helping a number of local events, it has attracted a lot of interest and offers from new helpers wanting to assist. Due to the age restriction this was a bit of a problem so we have decided to re-name and enable all ages to become involved in joining our Support Group of Ambassadors.
The idea is to help any agricultural shows, local fundraisers and festivals in providing a reliable and active group of helpers to ensure their event takes place. As an ambassador, you join a group of friendly, like minded people who want to support events.
If you have an event and would like to get in touch to get help from the team of volunteers/helpers or you are an individual who would like to know more and find out if you can join, please get in contact.

The Northumberland County Show is organised by the Tynedale Agricultural Society, which is a registered charity. Rather than operating for private profit, the Society uses the funds raised through the Show to benefit the local community.

The money raised each year is donated back into local charities, specifically ones that help the farming & Agri community.

We also invest in the next generation through our Student Bursary Programme, we offer three bursaries each year, awarded to young people in our area who are studying land-based agriculture or an animal-related course. If you are a school leaver and heading to study one of these courses and can offer some volunteering hours to help at the show next year, please contact us at [email protected] for more information. Closing date is 31st August 2026.

This charitable purpose is an important part of the Show's mission, demonstrating that attending, exhibiting & supporting the Northumberland County Show in any way, helps contribute to our local rural community.

Tynedale Agricultural Society & the organisers of Northumberland County Show would like to say a huge thank you to a very special section secretary, who is sadly stepping down from the show this year. June Purves, is retiring as our dog show secretary after many years with the show. We wanted to send our sincere thanks to June and all her family & friends for all the years they have kept our dog show running so professionally, giving up their time to make the section a success. 💐

Wishing our Assistant Show Secretary, Ellie Robson a very Happy 21st Birthday today! Ellie is a vital part of the show team and will be now taking a well earned break over the summer, however you might see her helping other local shows with our young ambassadors!

Fantastic day at The Royal Highland Show, today, Ellie & Kerry had the pleasure of being kindly invited to judge the Lifestyle Trade Stands. A fantastic experience and we even managed to avoid the showers!

Absolutely delighted that our very own assistant Show Secretary, Ellie Robson has been awarded 3rd place in the Hexham Rotary club’s Young Employee of the Year 2026. Well Done Ellie for being such a vital part of our show! Thank you to the organisers for a fantastic awards night and congratulations to the other two winners! Great to see young people being awarded for their hard work and dedication 🤩
