We are delighted to announce we have a new group starting at the end of this month, Laird Alignment.

Starting on Friday the 30th of October and continuing once a fortnight - what a great way to end your week, especially in these darker months.

Did you know our centre was renamed in memory of Rose Walker, a lady who spent nearly four decades running activities at our centre for the community.

Rose is often remembered, people visit and recall coming as a child to one of Rose's groups. Rose was recognised for her devoted work with an MBE.

It's a lovely way to remember a lady who did so much for the community.

We were asked if we have space for an all day event - the answer is yes! But only on Thursdays between 8am and 5.30 pm. Visit our website to book.

There are some smaller pockets of time for training sessions or short workshops on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the middle of the day as well.

And of course we are available to book for children's parties at the weekend. But we do get booked up fast for these so please be sure to get in touch early.

If you are part of a regular group which meets at the centre you should have been advised about what will happen with your group when the centre is closed.

If not please ask them at your upcoming sessions.

We are blessed with a beautiful park right at our back door. And it's lovely to watch the seasons come and go.

Hirers of the centre are welcome to use the park, but it is a public space. So if you want to extend your events to the outside area by putting up gazebos or other pieces of equipment you will need to ask Green Space for permission. 🌿 It’s a pleasure to host the rearranged Pause & Notice wellbeing walk for Friendly Fridays on Friday 9th October!

Join Sarah from Capture & Calm Walks for time by the river, noticing nature and connecting with others. Take a few photos or simply enjoy the surroundings.

📍 Rose Walker Community Centre, Essex Avenue, Stockport
🕙 Meet at 10:15am, setting off at 10:30am
🍽️ Return by 12 noon for a free lunch at Friendly Fridays

Wear suitable footwear, dress for the weather and bring a drink. Please note that this route is not suitable for prams, wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
