The Rose Walker Community Centre (previously known as the Cheadle Heath Community Centre or Pavilion), is available to hire for regular groups & parties

Cheadle Heath Community Centre is located in Cheadle Heath Park, Essex Avenue (off Stockport Road) Cheadle Heath, SK3 OJA. The park was opened in 1936 and the Community Centre (or the Pavilion as it is known locally) has provided a meeting place, a social hub, a venue for parties, events and activities for many years, and is still doing so.

Krav Maga Stockport are now holding sessions at our centre every Friday from 7.00pm - 8.30pm.

Master Kato and Master Mike are the instructors and teach top level real world self defence

No level of fitness or martial arts experience needed.

We were recently asked if we had a baby changing mat that a group could use when hiring our centre and they were delighted to learn that we have a baby changing station!

This isn't usually a facility available in a community centre that you can hire.

You can enjoy this space even when the centre isn't open!

Our community hall is available to hire for one off events on Thursday or children's parties at the weekend. The price is £25 per hour.

Facilities available:

Full use of kitchen, equipment and kitchenware
16 foldable tables and 60 chairs
Free Wi-Fi
Access to a local park at our back door
Small carpark for your visitors
Space for indoor bouncy castles
Accessible with ramps at two entrances, loop system, accessible bathroom
Baby changing station

Limited availability in July and August. We tend to be booked a month in advance.

We are in the full throngs of the summer holidays now and we just wanted to remind you that we have a defibrillator outside the front door of our centre.

This can be used by anyone locally in the park or in nearby houses/shops/takeaways etc

When you dial 999 they will direct you to the nearest defibrillator in your area and provide you with the code to unlock and access the contents inside.

Sending our thanks to Anna who ensures this is maintained and stays on the circuit in active use.

Sometimes it takes a community to help a community.

Last Thursday we had the mayoral elections and the centre needed to be used for voting.

This meant our flagship community project Friendly Fridays was unable to set up for their summer programme.

Thanks to the team at Stockport Council 3 people were found to help Friendly Fridays on Friday morning instead along with Councillor Asa Caton - Edgeley Community Association

With their help Friendly Fridays was open at 10 am ready to receive visitors. We understand that had nearly 200 adults and children on Friday.

Do we have tables and chairs you can use?

Absolutely we do. 18 tables which when doubled up seat 10 around the edges! Plenty of chairs available both in the store room and around the edge of the main hall. We recommend up to 70 seated as a maximum though and that gives you a few tables for things like a welcome desk and refreshments table.

For fairs and stall events you can fit all 18 tables with a some round the edge and a central core of tables.

We even have high chairs available for you to use if needed.
