CLIMATE CUTS SPEAKER KLAXON!
Lisa Arrandale is Active Communities Officer at Life Leisure. Her role is part of the Community team, and between them they support the community wider than their leisure centres - working in schools, community groups, hospitals, care homes and more.
One area of her work is overseeing their walking provision. Over the past 2 years, the team have created a walking pathway, so people have the opportunity to start at a level that suits them and progress if they choose.
They organise at least 1 walk per weekday in various areas of Stockport, and these walks vary in distance and ability, some examples are their indoor confidence walks, outdoor confidence walks, community walks, social strolls, Nordic walking, monthly wellness walks and longer walk challenges.
In collaboration with they have also created Stockport Walking Network, this is an opportunity for anyone interested in walking to connect and promote other walks.
