Dave and Alex have been working at a local theatre venue this weekend installing new LED lighting as part of the theatres upgrade and transition to a completely LED lighting rig.

Dave went to meet the venue technicians to demo some lighting and moving lights in the venue to ensure that they were not to noisy for the audience during productions, following the equipment demo a proposal was put together and submitted for them to consider.

The equipment needed to be installed between productions to avoid disruption to the theatre schedule.

The customer is very happy with the result.

Well it’s been another manic few weeks for the team,

A Beauty and the Beast Set in Kent 300 miles away for a school production, Grease car and costumes in Stoke on Trent, our motorbike prop down in Thatcham for WWRY as well as a lighting and sound hire job for a local school production of Shrek, and last of all a school theatre hybrid upgrade to LED lighting.

Dave met with the school to discuss funding options and helped them apply for a bid for some new equipment. All equipment supplied at competitive prices by DDE.

The team then went in out of hours to take down all existing lights, repair and re lamp as necessary and then reinstall the lights in the main hall and two studios, this is only the start as the school transition to a full Led rig in the future. The install was complete within 12 hours, and our client is extremely happy.

We have worked with this school for over 10years now providing technical support for their shows and events.

it’s been a manic week with shows, prop and set hire and also awards evenings, but Dave and the team worked their magic once again,

Firstly we would like to share some pictures of the technical support we provided for Congleton High Schools production of HIgh School Musical

DDE provide a full Led lighting rig, sound production and radio microphones as well as raised staging to extend the schools stage. the team designed the lighting for the show as well as providing technicians for all the set up and operation.

The show was amazing, the kids were so talented!

Part 3 - Professional Display Install

At Lymm Methodist Church, a faulty projector was replaced by the team with a 98” Legamaster Professional Display and soundbar.

As well as the addition of the screen, the old VGA infrastructure was replaced with a a state of the art 4k Optical HDMI system to allow 3 control points, 2 audio options and hassle free transition between the multiple venue users.

The venue now have control from the main area at the back of the building, a HDMI input wall socket to stage right and a Cat-6 infrastructure network for HDMI over Cat-6 from Stage Left.

All old cables and projection screens were removed.

A user manual was also created following the install to troubleshoot any settings that may need adjusting on devices that haven’t been used on the infrastructure before. The guide is clear and sent in a digital format for easy communication to visiting venue users.

In addition to the screen, DDE were also asked to install LED backlighting to the cross that can be controlled locally or via a Philips hue for remote timing.

The venue is now much more user and environmentally friendly with their new infrastructure thanks to Dave D Events.

Part 2 of our install series - AV install

At Loreto College, the projector stopped working during a performance at the end of the Summer term and with their first event being a Shakespeare Festival at the start of November, they gave DDE a call, had a demonstration of their quoted projector and an install was arranged around other events in the venue.

This 15,000 lumen projector is resistant to use in venues with Haze and comes with a 5 year guarantee. A step up in brightness from the old unit as well as more flexibility for use within the stage shows!

Time for an upgrade?

DDE are here to help!

Over the next few days we will be showing off the hard work the team put in at the end of 2023 with a few install jobs.

Firstly at St Bede’s School, the team did a full audio upgrade including supplying of a new Midas M32 digital desk to replace the outdated analogue system. 6 new Martin audio speakers to provide main stereo and auditorium speakers, 12 ways of sennheiser digital radio microphones.

This install was supported by a half-day training session for the staff & supporting students before a college show the week later!

A huge thanks goes to the team: Dave, Fran and James who did an amazing job of the de-rig and install of the new kit.
