A richly intricate story following a Korean family across continents and generations as they strive, struggle, and make huge sacrifices for their children's education. I can't wait for this to come out with HarperCollinsUK in September!

🙏Huge thanks to author Jo Morey for coming to discuss her debut novel The Night Lagoon with our Wednesday book group yesterday.
🌴The Night Lagoon is a sultry, steamy thriller set in the remote jungles of Belize, which simmers with tension.
💔⛓️‍💥 🌺🪷 It's a story about toxic relationships, buried secrets, and the dislocated experience of living with hearing loss, plus contains fascinating insights into the world of rare orchid collectors. Our book group enjoyed the chance to quiz Jo Morey on all the above, as well as gaining insights into Jo's own experience of living with severe tinnitus.
🌺 It was a perfect summer pick for our book group, thank you Jo!
🍰As you'll see from the photos, Sara really outdid herself on the homemade cakes yesterday, including a fitting tribute to the tropical setting of the book, a Carribbean coconut cake!
🖋️ Jo Morey is based in Sussex, and attended Steyning Grammar School! We are thrilled to see a SGS alumni hitting the bestseller lists and can't wait to read her next novel which comes out in 2027!

Bookshop dog Frank would like to remind you that today (Wednesday) has been International Dog Day!
Frank has been deciding what kind of party he should have to celebrate, helped by having a read of You Choose Party Time, which comes out TOMORROW!
Will he eat hot dogs or ice cream? Will there be bunting or balloons? A steel band or a disco? YOU get to choose on every page of this brilliant book which will inspire hours of family discussion!
The book's creators Nick Sharratt and will be at the bookshop for a special party time themed event tomorrow! Although the event is sold out, we CAN get Nick and Pippa to sign and dedicate copies while they are here.
So give us a ring on Thursday morning if you'd like to get a book signed to pick up later!
