I’ll be hosting this Friday’s Close-up Magic evening at The Magic Circle in London, and it’s shaping up to be a really lovely night.

If you’ve never been to one of these evenings before, it’s very different to a large stage magic show. Small groups. Close-up performances. Amazing magicians just inches away from you.

You’ll see sleight of hand, mind reading, impossible moments and a lot of laughter too.

The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly, whether you already love magic or are simply curious to experience something unusual for the first time.

Next Sunday, 8th March, I’ll be at the Burgess Hall Spring Wedding Fair in St Ives.

It’s a great opportunity for couples to meet a wide range of suppliers in one place and start thinking about how they want their day to feel, not just how it looks.

If you’re planning a wedding locally, you can pre-register for free before Saturday.

Lately I’ve been thinking about why some events just feel better than others.

It’s rarely the big moments. More often it’s a small group, a shared reaction, a bit of laughter that turns into conversation.

That’s what I love about close-up magic when it’s done well. Not as a performance, but as part of the atmosphere.

I’ve written a short piece on my website about this, for anyone planning an event this spring or summer and wondering how to get people properly connecting.

A lovely night on Saturday celebrating Antony’s 60th.

I performed close-up magic around the tables and the reactions were brilliant all evening.

Antony was kind enough to say a few words afterwards, always means a lot when the person you’re there for is genuinely delighted.
