Sowerby Bridge Fire and Water Creating a landmark centre for arts & culture, education and community in Sowerby Bridge It is an organisation for the community run by the community.

SBF&W is a not-for-profit organisation, initially set up as a limited company, run by a board of trustees and special advisors, all of whom are drawn from the local community. But anyone can become involved with the project and we expect the active membership to expand to reflect all sectors of the local community.

It’s been too long since we posted an update on the buildings but here we are with some very exciting developments!

We have hung theatre curtains in the Fire Station, around the whole room and surrounding the stage, giving a much more professional appearance. Our thanks to J&C Joel Ltd. for these.

The culmination of almost four years’ work by our volunteer DIY team on the first floor means the space is ready for a new tenant. Watch this space for more information soon!

Finally, we’re grateful to Wickes community scheme for providing us with automatic fire door closers. We have a constant struggle to raise the funds for materials for our volunteers to complete building work.
