Here’s a little bit of advice to new brides-to-be who are beginning to look for their wedding dress.
Shop when you are ready, on average a dress takes around 6 months to arrive in store, sometimes it’s less, sometimes it’s more and alterations allow 2 months. So use that as a guideline. I have dresses off the rail too just in case I can’t order anything in time.
Most dresses in the shop are in one size and I pin or clamp to fit so you can get the best idea on how the dress will look when ordered in your size. Sleeves, straps, pockets etc can usually be added and this is called customising your dress.
Shop for your wedding dress when you have booked your venue, this will really help you to visualise your day.
Have in your mind how much you want to spend on your dress remember to also factor in alterations cost as well (anything between £120-£350) depending on what’s being done and how often.
Please get a good pair of seamfree knickers that have no VPL, I’m a lover of high rise shorts in opal or sandstone. No sucking in just nice and smooth.
Please don’t pay too much attention to all the noise out there about how you should feel and how you’re going to react to the right dress. We are all very different and we all process very differently. Be in the moment and trust the process. But most importantly trust yourself. Your own instinct.
I am so lucky to have the most amazing Brides and I am so happy that I get to dress women who are so varied in ages, sizes and stages in their lives. I celebrate how different we all are and am eternally grateful that I am trusted to dress women for their wedding day. A true gift
Please don’t put off trying on dresses because you’re not the right size, just book an appointment to come on your own and we can discover.
I am here to help you and make you feel confident, comfortable and the very best version of yourself.
Hope that helps 🤞any questions please message me.
