Whilst we’re enjoying the start of wedding season, socials naturally take a bit of a back seat.

We’re still very much here, just slightly less online and more immersed in the days themselves.

Nothing really compares to finally watching couples we’ve worked with for over a year actually get married. After months of planning, emails, meetings and build up, seeing it all come together is still the best part of what we do.

We’ve also been lucky enough to have with us for the last three weddings, which means we now have far too many beautiful previews sitting in our camera roll waiting to be shared.

From Australia to the English countryside, and yet somehow Darcie and Katie still made the house feel entirely their own.

The kind of wedding day that reminds you what it’s all about - so much love, so much happiness, and two families becoming one.

Friends and family travelled from all over the world, including Australia, to be there with them - which honestly says everything about the kind of people they are and the love surrounding them.

We’re looking for a freelance content creator to work closely with us at The Old Vicarage.

Someone who can capture, edit and share content across Instagram and TikTok in a way that feels considered, editorial, and true to our world.

We’re looking for someone who understands storytelling and pacing - how a brand translates visually, and how content builds over time. Someone who can plan thoughtfully, create consistently, and evolve ideas with us as the seasons change.

You’ll also take the lead on paid social, so experience with performance, lead generation and ROAS is essential.

Ideally, you’ll be local (or nearby) and able to spend time at the house, working alongside us and our team.

This is a paid freelance role. We’re drawn to those who feel aligned with our aesthetic - design-led, understated, and intentional. Experience within weddings, hospitality or luxury brands is a plus.

Things have felt a little busy here over the past month or so. Just when you think there might be a moment of quiet, we somehow find ourselves filling it - always looking at ways we can continue to develop and thoughtfully refine the experience for our couples and guests.

It’s something that feels incredibly important to us as a small, family-run business - that nothing stands still, and that every wedding here feels considered, personal, and ever-evolving.

Warm air, a glass in hand, and your favourite people gathered on the lawn.

Reception drinks in the garden are where everything begins to settle - the ceremony behind you, the day opening up ahead. Guests spilling onto the grass, finding a quiet corner or a patch of sun, chatting easily, taking it all in. It feels relaxed, natural, and completely unforced.

It’s the moment your guests exhale, and you realise this is exactly how you wanted it to feel.

We’ve had such a lovely weekend of house viewings, welcoming some wonderful couples and hearing the most meaningful stories.

It never fails to remind us how lucky we are - that some have already chosen to secure their dates with us for 2027 and 2028. It always feels incredibly special.

International Women’s Day feels especially meaningful for us.

The Old Vicarage has always been a place built by women. What started as Suzie’s vision - restoring a house that many people had overlooked - slowly grew into the business we now run together.

Over the years it’s become more than a venue. It’s a place where women gather, create, collaborate and celebrate some of life’s most important moments.

Running a business as a mother and daughter has been one of the greatest privileges of our lives, and we feel incredibly lucky to work alongside so many talented women in this industry every day.

With a background in creative media and design, she brings a considered eye to how the house is seen, felt and experienced - from the way a space photographs, to how a couple is guided from first enquiry to the morning after their wedding.

Much of her work lives behind the scenes: shaping the brand, refining processes, and telling the story of the house through thoughtful marketing and social media. Always with the same intention - that it feels honest, calm, and deeply personal.

Her focus is on the future of the house: protecting its character while gently evolving it, ensuring every decision is led by people, aesthetics, and how it all feels to those who choose to celebrate here.
