Our Story
Marshside School of Dance pride ourselves on our extremely high standard, and also our ability to make classes fun whilst still achieving great progressions from children of all abilities. We run classes for all ages, from beginners up to open competitions. We teach Ballroom, latin, Street dance, commercial, pom cheerleading, classical sequence, contemporary, ballet, wedding dances. We also have minis classes for 5 and unders. We run also run individual coaching as well as classes, and we are part of the passport university scheme.
Marshside School of Dance was founded in 1984 by Wendy and Ronald Hargreaves (above picture) after Wendy and Rons retirement in 2016 the school was taken over by daughter Karen Leach, who runs the dance school working closely with teachers Beckie Spencer, Julie Swainson, Lauren Deane, Linzi Buchanan, Sharon Cornwell. There is a great family friendly atmosphere throughout the dance school, with many of our teens being part of our school since they were 3 and 4 years old.
