Venue Hire

Here at Southend Rugby Club, we offer the hire of our function room to provide parties, gatherings and events.

We provide the venue, with a very good size hall which is full of character, holding up to 250 people, opening onto an outdoor patio area. We have an additional room attached for your own catering, buffets, graze tables etc …and a fully-stocked bar, with a friendly, helpful bar team ready to make your occasion extra special.

Personalise your event with decorations, catering and entertainment, that way the occasion is always the individual, unique experience you want. You may decorate the hall in your colour theme, with tablecloths, balloons, banners, photo backdrops, light up numbers etc … we also welcome photo booths.

Choose a catering company to supply your food or bring your own. In the summer months you may hire food vans that can park up next to the patio, if you so wish. We also have an outdoor BBQ that can be hired with staff (subject to availability).

Hire your own DJ, band, entertainer or, alternatively, make a playlist to play through our sound system, via Bluetooth. We also have TVs around the room to display photos although this would need to requested at the time of the booking. We will need them sent to us via email in advance or, alternatively, bring along a memory stick.*

Functions

We can host birthday parties of all ages, wedding receptions, anniversaries, engagements, retirements, wakes, christenings, work parties, Christmas parties, presentations, quiz nights, charity events and fundraisers. We are happy to discuss and arrange any type of occasion not listed.

Wake Package

We offer a 3-hour wake package, which includes private hire of the hall and bar, unlimited self-service tea and coffee, tables set and dressed. Arrange for your own catering to be delivered and we will set up for your arrival.

We will have a table set out for your photos, flowers and remembrance book and are happy to play the music of your choice in the background. We can also display photos of your loved one on our TV screens, if you so wish (see * above).

Our aim is to make a celebration of life, personal to your family and friends. We are happy to assist with any other requirements.

Party – 19.00 – Midnight - £300 (this includes opening at 17.30 for set up)

We are located at Warner’s Bridge Park, Sumpter’s Way, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 5RE and are in an ideal location for so many functions and activities- you need to see it to believe it! Combined with our private location, large outside space and ample free parking, we have a prime facility ready to be hired.

Top night for an 80’s themed 40th and 50th with Hog Roast van, Rossi’s ice cream van, candy station, cake station, buffet, hot curry, vanity photo shoot, a lovely group of people, we had a fab time hosting it 😃

We are back open for party bookings with use of our hall and Bar which leads to our outdoor patio area with BBQ facilities, this enables us to accommodate social distancing, all risk assessments been made and safe. Gazebos can also be put up outside if you wish.
