𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲 – 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲

We’re aware there has been some concern regarding the recent tree works carried out along Hamble Lane, and we appreciate residents taking the time to get in touch.

We have confirmed that the works were undertaken by Hampshire County Council as part of their wider Ash Dieback Project. This programme focuses on removing diseased ash trees from high-risk areas to protect public safety and manage the long-term impact of ash dieback. The works on Hamble Lane form part of the wider operations linked to Royal Victoria Country Park, with the main phase completed last year under the appropriate felling licence.

We understand there were questions about the type of trees involved and would like to reassure residents that these were not oak trees. The removals relate specifically to diseased ash as part of the ongoing Ash Dieback programme, and not for any other reason.

The timber currently on site is scheduled to be collected and processed for firewood.

⚠️ Hamble Lane temporary traffic lights

We share your frustration at the disruption that these temporary lights are causing. These works have not been arranged by Hamble Parish Council - they've been installed by Hampshire County Council Highways due to a road safety issue caused by a water leak, which Southern Water is responsible for repairing.

While we have no involvement in these works, we're chasing both organisations daily on the community's behalf and will post updates here as soon as we have them.

We'll share everything we know as we get it.

To raise the issue directly:

📞 Hampshire County Council Highways: 0300 555 1388
