Oink A digital archive from the porkie odessey which was Oink! The Pork Company Our splendid family food company is passionate about grub. Oink!

was born out of a conversation around our kitchen table bringing together three aims: to showcase local producers, to be environmentally low impact & to provide a complete event catering company to discerning customers. We weave together our three golden threads make Oink! what it is & keep us honest -

“Carbon Free is the future” - We are the only pork company that calculates the carbon produc

ed during farming, transportation and cooking. We off-set our carbon with approved schemes across the globe that reduce the amount of CO2 in the environment. “See where the carbon goes here…”

“Local is crucial” – Our pork is raised in the county its eaten in, we like to think of it as the ‘Farm to Fork’ philosophy. Our farms have been specially selected because of their high animal welfare standards because frankly it tastes better. This year we are also raising our own piggies down in Kent. Come see piggies down on the farm without having to put your wellies on in our album i-Sty 2012 .

“Superb seasonal food” – We source our ingredients from the Oink! “auxiliary allotment”, local farmers markets, allotment donation, local nurseries & small holders to create our bespoke menus based on what’s fresh & fabulous right now. This means we are always using ingredients at their peak locally retaining money & skills in the local economy.

In the words of Spike - I told you I was ill & to prove it here's the MRI of my bulging disk. On a happier note - H
have a splendid festive break one & all. When I have had an epidural we'll have a think about a spring popup eh?

Hey up pork lovers. So a number of things have conspired to ensure Oink! has been somewhat quiet of late... namely submerging my iphone in a glass of water. This is not to be recommended - although hilariously enough did result in the phone switching to voice control mode & attempting to call Apple HQ (despite my only utterance being a word that starts with f but sounds like suck) then promptly turning itself off. Cut off from the 21st century I have added to my woes foolishly allowing an apparently very important disc in my back to 'bulge'. While innocuous enough sounding this is also not to be recommended. I'm presently heavily medicated, rarely vertical & incredibly envious of anyone who can put their own socks on. Naturally being a vigorous, healthy specimen *ahem* I'm expecting to be fit to enough to pull the horsebox around using a rope in my teeth probably in the next twenty minutes however my GP has suggested that I rest for a fortnight which I'm inclined to go along with at least for a bit.
What does this mean to you? Probably not too much but suffice to say the next pop up will be early September as opposed to anytime in August. Sorry to be a kill joy but its a all a bit painful at present.

Phew! What a weekend down at Barn On The Farm. Absolutely cracking time with a splendid line up, awesome organisers (Matt, Josh, Alice take a bow) & lovely beautiful customers all weekend. We had pork from the Farm, we had sun, we had rain, we served 30kg of bacon, 30kg of sausages & 6 shoulders of pork. Special thanks go out to -
MP (King of the green room & bringer of whiskey) - big love.
Josh 'Abs' Giles - brother you are a hero
Pete 'The Power House' Rigler - dude you cooked some serious quantities of food
Matt 'Sparky' Keane - your impromptu electric skills were a life saver.
