šæ GREENWASHING: Donāt be fooled by the label
Ever bought something because it said ānaturalā, āeco-friendlyā or ācleanā⦠only to discover it wasnāt quite what you thought? š
Thatās greenwashing.
Greenwashing is when a brand makes something look more environmentally friendly, natural or sustainable than it really is ā often through clever packaging and vague marketing.
š© Watch out for:
⢠āNaturalā with no clear explanation
⢠āChemical-freeā claims
⢠Lots of green packaging + leaves šæ
⢠āEcoā or ācleanā without evidence
⢠Tiny amounts of a ānaturalā ingredient while the rest is highly processed
⢠Claims that sound impressive but arenāt backed up
⨠My tip: Donāt just read the front of the packaging. Turn it around, check the ingredients, look for certifications and research the brand.
Marketing can be green. That doesnāt always mean the product is. š±
