Do you actually need a wedding planner?

Maybe. Maybe not.

If you're organised, have plenty of time, and genuinely enjoy planning, you might be absolutely fine. But if you're juggling work, family, a house move, or simply don't want your wedding to become a second full-time job, having the right support can make all the difference.

In my latest blog, I'm breaking down who benefits most from a wedding planner, the different levels of support available, and how to decide what's right for you.

Julia & Will

There are church flowers… and then there are church flowers.

One of the things I love most about planning and coordination is watching months of ideas, conversations and supplier talent come together on the day. The Church of All Saints in East Pennard was transformed with towering birch trees, abundant seasonal flowers and thoughtful design at every turn, creating a ceremony space that felt both breathtaking and completely at home within the historic building.

Your ceremony sets the tone for everything that follows, and this one couldn’t have been more perfect.

Abi & Matt

Five minutes. That’s often all it takes.

A quiet walk away from the guests. A chance to breathe. To realise you’re actually married. To take it all in before the celebrations continue.

Golden hour isn’t just about beautiful photographs.

It’s about giving yourselves a moment you’ll remember forever.

The most beautiful weddings are never the result of one person.

They’re created when incredibly talented people come together, each bringing their own expertise, trusting one another and working towards the same vision.

Watching ideas evolve from sketches and conversations into something you can actually walk through will never get old.

It’s one of the reasons I love this industry so much. When every supplier is passionate about what they do, the end result is always something far greater than the sum of its parts.

A dream team in every sense.

Charlotte & Roger

Set at the couple’s family estate, this Marquee wedding struck that rare balance between beautifully polished and deeply personal. Every detail felt intentional - from the meadow ceremony complete with gospel choir to the abundance of British florals on the guest tables.

Camille & Alex

A celebrant-led ceremony in the garden, speeches that had everyone crying and laughing in equal measure, a marquee full of colour, and a dance floor that absolutely did not hold back.

One of my favourite things about weddings at home is that they can feel completely unapologetic in personality. Nothing here felt copied, expected, or overly polished for the sake of it. It just felt like them.

I was there as coordinator for this one, helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes so they could properly sink into the day with their people.

And honestly… the energy at this wedding was unreal.

Lucy & Fred

A Silk Mill wedding with champagne on ice, tacos in the courtyard, confetti everywhere, and one very happy dance floor by the end of the night.

Lucy and Fred wanted the day to feel relaxed, colourful, and completely centred around their people - less formal “wedding schedule”, more incredible food, flowing drinks, and a big celebration in the middle of Frome.

created the food experience of dreams with open-fire cooking, incredible sharing food, and tacos later in the evening which disappeared almost instantly.

One of my favourite things about weddings at The Silk Mill is how effortlessly cool the space already feels. The styling never needs to be overworked. A few thoughtful details, great atmosphere, good music, and guests who are ready to have a brilliant time do most of the heavy lifting.

Such a fun one to coordinate!

The room reveal gets me every time.

Months of ideas, planning, supplier meetings, samples, logistics, redesigns, timelines, and tiny little details… all suddenly become real in one moment.

This was her seeing the reception space fully transformed for the first time before guests arrived.

One of those wedding day moments I’ll never stop loving.

Warm light, layered textures, and a table that invites people to sit, stay, and enjoy it.

Every element here was chosen to work with the space, not compete with it.

The stoneware plates echo the texture and tone of the old stone walls, grounding the table, while the French linen softens everything slightly and brings a more relaxed, tactile feel. Contemporary glassware lifts the look just enough, sitting alongside more traditional cutlery to keep that balance between old and new.

The florals follow the same approach — structure balanced with softness. Sculptural anthuriums sit against cloud-like hydrangeas, with looser, more natural stems woven through so it never feels too polished or overworked.

This is how we create cohesion — not matching everything perfectly, but making sure each piece has a reason to be there.
