Hanging baskets are brightening up the borough thanks to service users at Newlands Bishop Farm! 🌻

They include a number of different plants, including begonia, verbena and lysimachia nummularia, and they can be seen decorating areas such as Solihull town centre, Chelmsley Wood, Knowle, Dorridge and Balsall Common!

The project is a partnership between Solihull Council, our environmental contractor Veolia - UK and Newlands Bishop Farm, helping adults at the farm develop horticulture skills as well as providing more green spaces across the borough 🌼

You are certainly keeping us all busy by buying so many of our bird boxes! The craft team are busy on the next wave of designs to be put in the shop soon 🐦‍⬛

The recent hot weather included an emergency hait cut for our old lady Marple. You may see less of the ponies out on the walkway over the next few weeks as we have to limit their grass intake! We have our lovely cade lambs Tulip, Twinkle and Tim holding the fort in the field for now 🐑

As we head into a busy season of events at Newlands Bishop Farm, we wanted to share our upcoming closure dates to help you plan your visits to Berry’s Café 💚

Please note that on selected dates throughout the summer, the café will be closed for special events taking place on site.

🐐 Please also note: the Animal Walk Way will be closed from 24th–26th June, however Berry’s Café will remain OPEN as usual ☕🍰

We’ll still be here serving your favourite fresh food, breakfasts, lunches, homemade cakes and hot drinks whenever we’re open ☀️

We are really pleased to share that Family Care Trust has been shortlisted in two categories at the Solihull Awards 2026:

This recognises the impact of our work as a charity and the difference our services make through care, opportunity, dignity and community.

Solihull Influencer
This recognises the progress we’ve made in sharing our story, raising awareness of our services and events, and helping more people understand and support what Family Care Trust does.

The Solihull Awards celebrate organisations across the borough that are making a positive impact through their work, their services and the difference they make in the community.

Being shortlisted in both categories is something we are really proud of, and reflects the many different efforts that happen day to day across the Trust. Whether that’s supporting service users directly, keeping services running, welcoming people to our sites, helping behind the scenes, or making sure the small but important things are done well.

🦖💚 Thank You for Joining Us for Dinosaur Week! 💚🦖

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and enjoyed our Dinosaur Week at Berry’s Café during half term! We loved seeing so many families visiting the farm, exploring the dinosaur decorations, enjoying the games and making special memories together 🌿✨

It was wonderful to welcome both familiar and new faces to the café, and we hope you all enjoyed the fresh food, homemade treats, milkshakes and all the fun activities on offer 🥤🍰🐐
