Last Seasons Stats 2XV!

After a season of availability being the biggest issue, with injuries, lads out and the 1’s pinching players all the time for their endeavours, the 2XV have had a solid season.

With a positive win record and two of those losses having to be walkovers. It was pretty successful. Scalping the majority of the dominant teams in the league. We know with consistent numbers this team will be untouchable and one of those dominant teams very soon!

🔶🔷SRUFC 50th Year Celebration!🔷🔶

Wow what a night! Celebrating everything SRUFC and all the wonderful people that have made this club what it is over the past 50 years.

A real celebration of past and present that went on until the early hours of the Sunday morning!

There’s to many names and people to mention that deserve a special thank you but the club is only headed in the right direction. From the highly successful first team, the relentless battling of the second team, the nimble and spritely vets, or the now full array of Sittingbourne Women! and every single committee or social member spanning the club.

All the memories over the years will be remembered fondly but with a new multi-million pound facility on the horizon Bourne will soon have their new place to make fresh memories that will last forever.

Thank you to the Players, Supporters, Members and Sponsors that make this all possible!

One Game Too Many!

This weekend saw the 1XV play their National Central Plate game against Cheltenham Saracens.

The stage was set and the boys kicked off, Cheltenham Saracens very much like the horse racing got off the a flying start, hitting Bourne with three try’s inside 15 minutes. Bourne’s set piece was working well and with a driving maul and a flashed pass we found our first try, but Cheltenham weren’t done and got their fourth before the half was up.

Bourne had to switch on, the second half was better with a four try haul but we had left ourselves too much of a mountain to climb in the first half. With the final ten minutes all Bourne, it looked like we might pull off the impossible but with Bourne pushing for another try Cheltenham Saracens scored on the final play of the game to seal the deal and start their celebrations.

With a bit more accuracy in all departments and on a different day we could have done it. Our set piece was strong, scrum was a battle but we went forwards against the Gloucester-men but Cheltenham did deserve the win on the day, a very good side who were clinical when they had to be and had the bravery to run it from anywhere on the pitch. Congratulations on the win and one day we may meet again! They claimed the day and the plate with a 29-42 win in Coventry.

Thank you to everyone who made the trip up and we’re sorry we couldn’t make it the perfect road trip! But there’s always next year, more to come and so much to be proud of this season!

Now for a well earned rest.

The Last Dance.

Representing the club, your SRUFC 1XV for the final time in the 25/26 season and in the National Final against Cheltenham Saracens.

What a year it has been for the club and this side. Looking to produce their Magnum opus performance on the biggest stage they have graced all season.

Eighty minutes of hard graft stands between this side and unbridled revelry. Cheltenham Saracens however will not be here to just roll over. With their team hoping to write their own chapter in the history books.

The boys will be ready to put their bodies on the line to ensure success. Can they do it once more?

We will always back the Bourne in any encounter, make sure you do the same on Sunday!

Coventry awaits.

National Plate Final!

This SUNDAY see’s the lads play their final game of the 25/26 season and what a fixture we have in store!

Bourne are hitting the road as we head to Coventry to take on other finalists

Cheltenham Saracens booked their ticket by seeing off the inform Kings Norton 40-48. Showing they can mix it away from home in high pressure games. But Bourne aren’t bad away from home either, with 430 points scored away in the league, that statistically puts us 8th best in the country at our level. But this isn’t league rugby this is knockout rugby. Can both sides handle the pressure?

Cheltenham have had a good season ending 4th in Counties 3 Tribute Ale Gloucestershire North. With 22 games played, 15 Wins, 7 Loses. The same record as the team that came 3rd in that respective league.

Bourne as always will be looking to impose ourselves on the game from the off. We are certain the Gloucester lads will be looking to do the same. With it being both sides first time in a final of this magnitude, one side will certainly have a long journey home.

If you want to come and support the Bourne please do! We understand it is quite the journey. If you are planing on making the drive up, Thank you!

And as always a massive thank you to sponsor for enabling us to get to Coventry as one unit!
