⚠️ Important update: Festival of Curious Things postponed

Due to forecast wind gusts of up to 45mph, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the outdoor Festival of Curious Things event planned for Workington town centre on Saturday 12 September.

The safety of visitors, performers, traders, volunteers and staff is our priority. The forecasted conditions mean it would not be safe to proceed with the outdoor stalls, attractions and street entertainment as planned.

The planned road closures on Murray Road and Finkle Street will no longer go ahead and both roads will remain open as usual.

The good news is that the Soundwave Takeover at the Carnegie Theatre and Arts Centre is still going ahead. Doors open at 7pm and free tickets remain available.

🛍️ Come and meet our Trade Stand exhibitors!

We’ve got a brilliant mix joining us on Show Day - local businesses, food & drink, clothing, crafts, community organisations and plenty more. Have a wander, say hello and shop local while you’re here!

💷 Show Day tip: it’s worth popping some cash in your pocket. Card machines rely on mobile signal and, as anyone who knows Loweswater will appreciate, the valley doesn’t always cooperate! 😂 Cards are welcome where available, but cash is handy.
