🆘 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🆘
With the Harrington Marina Funday getting closer, we’re putting out a genuine plea to our community… we desperately need a few extra pairs of hands. 💙
What people see on the day is the music, the stalls, the demonstrations, the families enjoying themselves and thousands of people coming together.
What people don’t always see are the hours of work that go on behind the scenes to make it all happen.
We’re only a small group of volunteers. Nobody gets paid, nobody does it for recognition - we give up our own time because we want to keep days like this alive for Harrington and the wider community.
This year we could really do with some help with things like:
🙌 Collecting and setting up gazebos
🚧 Putting up fencing and helping with the road closure
🪧 Putting up posters and signs
ℹ️ Helping on our information stall/ raffle stall
💪 And once everyone has gone home happy, helping us pack everything away again!
You don’t need to give us the whole day. Even just a couple of hours could make a massive difference.
Many hands really do make light work. ❤️
Unfortunately, we can’t pay anyone - we’re a community group and every single one of us does this completely voluntarily. But if you can spare a little bit of your time to help us bring a brilliant day to the community, we’d be incredibly grateful.
And who knows… you might come along to help for a couple of hours, enjoy being part of the madness and decide you fancy joining our organising committee for next year! 😂💙
Days like the Harrington Marina Funday only happen because ordinary people are willing to muck in and help make something special happen.
📩 If you can help us on Saturday 29th August around 7.30am-10am for the set up.
10am-4pm throughout the event
4pm-6pm for the dismantling and clean up then please drop us a message.
Even one person, for a couple of hours, could take a huge weight off our shoulders.
This is your community. This is your Funday. Help us make it one to remember. 💙
