Our UK Floristry Guild RHS Judges are preparing for one of the busiest and inspiring weeks of the year as we head to the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 and the incredible Chelsea in Bloom 2026 🌿🌺

From Tuesday 18 May to Saturday 22 May, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show will showcase extraordinary creativity under this year’s inspiring Floristry Laboratory theme, exploring innovation through:

Meet Sarah 🍀as part of our meet the comittee

Sarah is part of the dedicated team who help keep Club on the Exe thriving.

A member for over 15 years, Sarah is currently our Vice Chair and also helps with photography and social media. Over the years she has served as Treasurer and Programme Secretary, making her a valued part of the hardworking team behind the club.

Sarah is the Creative Director behind Sarah’s Designs, an RHS judge and tutor, and a passionate flower and plant enthusiast. Nature and sustainability are a huge inspiration behind her design work.

With over 45 years in floristry (starting at just 15!), Sarah’s journey has included opening her first flower shop at 18 where she met the amazing Julia Harrison and Jean Sudworth both founding members and started winning medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

📚 Sarah also has a passion (some might say obsession! 🤣) for collecting floral books, building a growing library of historic and contemporary publications which she shares with fellow floral enthusiasts.

A lifelong learner and enthusiastic crafter, Sarah enjoys everything from hat making and jewellery design to glassblowing and weaving.

When she’s not doing something with flowers, you’ll find her co-running the Sid Valley Country Hotel, gardening with her black labs in the organic gardens and flower meadows, or enjoying a well-earned glass of fizz 🍾🍫

A heartfelt thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes – especially from those I haven’t seen in person for a while. I feel incredibly privileged to now be part of the 60+ club. Thanks for having me 🤣…

To my amazing family and friends: thank you for making this milestone so full of love, laughter, and joy. I’m not usually one to enjoy being the center of attention, but you’ve made it impossible not to celebrate! A proper party will follow… just not on a Bank Holiday weekend. 😉

Cakes, 🍰balloons, 🎈flowers 💐 (of course!), shrubs, 🥀and bubbles… 🍾🥂 WOW. I feel truly humbled.

After a slight delay, I’m thrilled to have received my delivery of Hanataba floristry mechanics… let the playing begin!

These 200mm and 120mm Kenzan rings make it easy to create a fabulous design style—feeling centered, free, and light. I can’t stop admiring them, and I’m excited to explore all the combinations they allow. The vase for the 200mm ring is perfectly proportioned—lovely and heavy, just right for grounding a striking design.

May grown flowers are ideal for vegetative, linear designs working beautifully on the 200mm ring. Convallaria majalis, Lily of the Valley 120mm ring with its extremely thin stems, grouped quickly into threes or fours, sits firmly on the kenzan pins.

Hallo Nederland… What a wonderful time.

Home after three days of inspired floristry, attending The International Floristry Teachers Seminar at Boermer Instituut under the dedicated guidance of Gregor Lersch.

Specific topics, collaboration, evaluation, conversations along with lots of laughter and friendship… A wonderful immersive experience to be with this group again.
