𝑾𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌, 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒆𝒌𝒌𝒂 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆. 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔, 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌.

My name is Tekka and I have been doing work experience with EDDA this week. I have assisted Miss Lucie with 35 of her classes, from melody bear to adult jazz. I have spent the week choreographing dances and then teaching them. I also took notes in different classes to observe technique and musicality, and the interaction between the teacher and dancers, and to try to understand areas for improvement from a teacher's perspective. Additionally I designed costumes inspired by Miss Lucie's newest dances as one of my tasks for the week.

My favourite part of the week was seeing my choreography come to life and enjoying the effect of a whole room of people dancing my work (instead of just me doing it in my living room!). Seeing my visions made reality was so satisfying.

Many parts of the week were exhausting - both physically and mentally. It was a real eye opener to see how much work goes into being a dance teacher. At times I was pushed to the limits of my self-confidence, and gained an enormous amount of pride from stepping out of my comfort zone. It has given me so much respect for Miss Lucie and the dedication and enthusiasm she shows.

I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been given this week and the trust and responsibility Miss Lucie placed in me. She shaped the week around my personality and gave me the freedom to explore my own style. I tried lots of new things and was able to immerse myself in what I really want to do with my life which is to dance and perform.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Miss Lucie and EDDA for giving me the most amazing week - trusting me with the challenge of teaching classes, giving the freedom to express my own creativity through choreography and inspiring me to work harder and take my dance to the next level.

Seafest 2026.

Thank you for having us again.

Our company dancers are students that represent East Devon Dance Academy. Giving up their time with lots of extra rehearsals, travelling to different venues, along with the support of parents.
They all are proud to represent the school, teachers, and all students of our community.

We had a great time dancing in such a brilliant atmosphere to a fabulous crowd.

We would like to thank everyone who came to watch us. It was lovely to see so many of our dancers there to support the girls. It is so appreciated.

We have had a wonderful morning rehearsal for the Junior, Senior and intermediate company dancers first event of the summer season.
You can catch them perform next Saturday (16th May) at Sidmouth Seafest at 1pm.
